Abstract:
Provided is an umbrella handle comprising a tube, a hollow upper enlargement secured to one end of the tube and being in communication with a bore of the tube, a lower enlargement secured to and concealed the other end of the tube, and a flexible gripping member shaped to be easily gripped by hand and formed around the tube and between the upper and the lower enlargements such that a shank is adapted to have its lower portion inserted through the upper enlargement into the bore of the tube to engage the lower enlargement and secure thereto. The invention has advantages of increased gripping comfort, mass production, and low manufacturing cost.
Abstract:
A telescopic shank of beach umbrella invention for facilitating height adjustment and storage is provided. In one embodiment, the shank comprises an upper support tube and a lower sliding tube comprising a top fastening mechanism the fastening mechanism including an eccentric, intermediate shaft, an eccentric groove around the shaft, and a stop on the eccentric groove, and an eccentric C-shaped locking device put on the eccentric groove, the locking device including a stop block. In a sliding position, the stop and the stop block are opposite. Responsive to further rotating the sliding tube, the fastening mechanism, and the shaft about half circle about the support tube, the stop is urged against the stop block and an eccentric portion of the shaft and the stop urge against the locking device for biasing one side of the locking device against an inner wall of the support tube in a locked position.
Abstract:
A pivotal-coupling device is provided for a collapsible umbrella frame structure, which allows the pivotal coupling between the main shaft and the framing rib to be achieved without having to use supersonic wave bonder, thus making the assembly work more easy to carry out and the manufacturing cost reduced. It also allows the assembly work to be carried out manually without having to use machine tools or welding means. The pivotal-coupling device includes a first linking member affixed to the main shaft; a second linking member affixed to the framing rib, and a pivotal pin for providing a pivotal coupling of the first linking member to the second linking member, allowing the main shaft to be pivotally coupled to the framing rib. Compared to the prior art, this pivotal-coupling device is considerably simpler in structure that allows it to be formed easily through machining and further allows the assembly work to be easily carry out by hand without having to use machine tools or welding means.
Abstract:
An improved joint mechanism for an umbrella which has a first connecting device which includes a shaft member which has a channel through its length and is capable of sleeving onto a rib member and a saddle portion with a U-shaped configuration disposed at the middle portion of the shaft member. A second connecting device defines a connecting tube suitable for fixing a tip portion of a stretcher and a yoke portion having a supporting beam which can be rotatably received by the saddle portion of the first connecting device.
Abstract:
A light windproof umbrella is provided with a center post including a top ferrule, an upper grommet, an intermediate sliding ring, and a sliding runner under the sliding ring; ribs each having one end pivotably secured to the grommet and the other end being open; main joints each formed at a portion of the rib proximate to the other end of the rib; auxiliary joints each formed at a portion of the rib between the main joint and the grommet; stretchers each having one end pivotably secured to the sliding ring and the other end moveably secured to the rib; struts each having one end pivotably secured to the sliding runner and the other end pivotably secured to the auxiliary joint; a lower canopy; and an upper canopy in a partial covering relationship to the lower canopy.
