    Abstract: A charging system for use in providing power for charging a battery. The system includes a first, alternating-current-to-direct-current, stage and a second, direct-current-to-direct-current, stage. The first stage includes a single-phase diode rectifier for rectifying an input alternating-current input voltage, and a power-factor-correcting sub-circuit including a switch. The second stage includes multiple switches. The system further includes a high-frequency capacitor connected between the first stage and the second stage. The system also includes a controller connected to the switches of the first and second stages and configured to control, by way of the switches, timing of boost inductor current passing through the charging system.

    Abstract: A power module and a multi-level inverter package is disclosed. At least four conductive traces are disposed on a substrate. Each conductive trace includes an insulation board, a gate bus disposed on the insulation board, a kelvin bus disposed on the insulation board, and a semiconductor die operating as a transistor. The semiconductor die including a drain, a gate, and a source. The drain is coupled to the conductive trace. The source is coupled to the kelvin bus and to an electrical connection off of the conductive trace. The gate is coupled to the gate bus.

    Abstract: Multi-switch module packaging for a multilevel inverter is provided. A multilevel inverter is connected to the battery. The multilevel inverter includes three levels, each of the three levels having a first module and a second module. The first module is formed on a first insulating substrate material, and the second module is formed on a second insulating substrate material separate from the first insulating substrate material. The first module includes a first switch coupled to the battery via a positive power rail, a second switch coupled to the battery via a negative power rail, and a third switch coupled to the second module. The second module includes another first switch coupled to the battery, another second switch coupled to the battery, and another third switch coupled to the first module. The first module includes four terminals and the second module includes another four terminals.
