Abstract:
An improvement to the Private Network Access Point (PNAP) packet switched network described in U.S. Pat. No. 6,009,081, where two customers connected to the same PNAP will exchange traffic through the PNAP without transiting over the backbones of the Internet. In addition, a multi-homed customer connected to the PNAP is provided with access to the PNAP optimized routing table so that the customer will also have the ability to know the best route for a particular destination. In this way, if a multi-homed customer connected to the PNAP is directly connected to a particular NSP to which a destination is also connected, the PNAP customer can use the PNAP information regarding the NSP to send the information to the destination through that commonly connected NSP in the most direct fashion.
Abstract:
A system and method is disclosed for determining the location of a mobile appliance using the reverse pilot channel provided in CDMA 2000 communication systems to determine an attribute (e.g., time of arrival, angle of arrival, time difference of arrival, received power level) of a reverse pilot signal at one or more wireless location sensors. A network overlay of wireless location sensors monitors the reverse pilot channel for a target mobile's reverse pilot signal. The monitored signal may be compared to a reference signal to determine a correlation and thereby determine an attribute of the target mobile's reverse pilot signal. The method may be performed independently from the communication system and without requiring retrieval of information bits from the mobile appliance. The reference signal may be generated from the unique long spreading code mask of the target mobile appliance which is typically a function of the ESN of the target mobile appliance.
Abstract:
A folding tray assembly is provided and includes a support member and a tray member, whereby the tray member is pivotably supported by the support member and moveable relative thereto between a use position and a stowed position. The folding tray assembly further includes a locking mechanism operable to selectively lock the tray member to the support member in one of either the use position or the stowed position. The locking mechanism is housed within the tray member such that the mechanism is not visible or accessible by an occupant, but rather remotely actuated by a handle or lever. In addition, the tray assembly eliminates external supports by providing support within the tray member, thereby providing an open space below the tray member and giving the tray assembly a generally L-shape in the use position.
Abstract:
A control system comprises a utility power line; a first meter, a first generator, a second meter and a programmable logic controller. The utility power line provides power. The first meter is positioned to measure power provided by a utility company via the utility power line. The first generator generates additional power. The second meter is positioned to measure power generated by the first generator. The programmable logic controller is in communication with the first meter and the second meter to receive input information. The programmable logic controller is also in communication with the first generator to selectively control the first generator in response to the input information. The programmable logic controller controls the first generator to keep power provided by the utility company via the utility power line below a first amount at a first time. The programmable logic controller also controls load bearing equipment that consumes the power provided via the utility power line and from the first generator. A process of managing power usage of a plant comprises receiving energy pulses; determining actual kWh being delivered by a utility company, during a demand interval; comparing the actual kWh to a preset kWh amount to determine whether actual kWh is greater than the preset kWh amount; and, if the actual kWh is greater than the preset kWh amount, then reducing the amount of power consumed by load bearing equipment. Also, if the actual kWh is greater than the preset kWh amount, then the process increases power generated a generator.
Abstract:
An assembly (10) for connection between a steering wheel (12) and a steerable member (14) includes a clutch mechanism (28) operatively connected to the steering wheel (12) and a drive mechanism (30) connected between the clutch mechanism (28) and a push pull cable (22). The push pull cable (22) is in turn connected to the steerable member (14). The clutch mechanism (28) prevents torsional forces from the steerable member (14) to be transmitted to the steering wheel (12). The clutch mechanism (28) includes a driving dog (38) connected to the steering wheel shaft (18) and a pinion member (40) connected to the drive mechanism (30). The driving dog (38) includes three radially extending legs (44, 45, 46) and the pinion member (40) includes arcuate arms (64, 65, 66) extending therebetween. Rollers (84-89) are biased by springs (96-98) to be wedged between the arms (64, 65, 66) and housing (32), and are released only upon rotation of the legs (44, 45, 46).
Abstract:
A system and method to opportunistically capture and use measurements on a priori unknown radio signals, not intended for radio navigation or geolocation, to improve navigation/geolocation position estimation yield and accuracy.
Abstract:
A system and method for estimating a location of a subscriber station receiving a first signal from a first base station and receiving a second signal from a second base station where the first and second base stations are nodes in a WiMAX or LTE network. A message may be received from the subscriber station containing first and second information, and a range ring determined from the first base station using the first information. A location hyperbola may be determined using the second information wherein the location hyperbola has the first and second base stations as foci. A location of the subscriber station may be estimated using the range ring and the location hyperbola.

Abstract:
A system and method selects secondary base stations to task that provide geo-location information used to geo-locate a mobile station. A network overlay location system may be co-located at base station sites of a wireless communications network. The location measurement units of the network overlay system provide location information of the mobile station, which may be determined via one or more geo-location techniques, for example: time of arrival (TOA), time difference of arrival (TDOA), uplink time difference of arrival (UTDOA), angle of arrival (AOA), signal power, radio fingerprinting etc. Selecting secondary base stations to task using various selection criteria may provide optimum results when geo-locating a mobile station.
