Abstract:
An image forming apparatus prints a template sheet. The template sheet includes a graphical code and operation boxes. The graphical code includes information corresponding to a storage location address that stores information about settings for one or more image forming apparatuses. A user indicates what information is desired or to be changed on the image forming apparatus, marks it on the template sheet and scans the template sheet. Based on the instructions on the template sheet, information for settings is retrieved for an apparatus in a network. Maintenance information for the image forming apparatus also is retrieved using the template sheet and operation boxes.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to a method for managing printing device software. The method includes receiving, at a computing device, a request to print a document file. The method also includes receiving a selection of a particular printing device with which to print the document file. The method further includes performing a search operation to determine whether a printer driver for the particular printing device is stored on the first computing device. Additionally, the method includes causing a data transfer of the printer driver from a server onto the first computing device over a wide area network upon determining that the printer driver is not stored on the computing device. Further, the method includes converting, using the printer driver, the document file into a print job. The method also includes transmitting, to the particular printing device, instructions to execute the print job.
Abstract:
A system comprises a server, a mobile device and an image forming apparatus. The server includes a storage manager for managing storage of documents and associated document identifiers, a mobile device interface for receiving a set request identifying a user from the mobile device and for providing associated document identifiers to the mobile device, and an image forming apparatus interface for receiving from the image forming apparatus a document request containing a document identifier and for providing in response a document associated with the document identifier to the image forming apparatus, the document identifier received by the image forming apparatus from the mobile device as a graphical code image. The image forming apparatus includes a scanner for scanning the graphical code image from the mobile device, and a server interface for sending the document request to the server and for receiving the document.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to a system, a method, and a device for monitoring printing devices using activity scores. In example embodiments, one or more printing devices are polled to monitor associated device states. A management device, using the associated device state and one or more requests transmitted to each of the one or more printing devices, generates an activity score. By comparing activity scores of the one or more printing devices, the management device can rank the printing devices against one another and assign priority levels to each printing device. These priority levels can then be used to establish frequencies for future polling of the one or more printing devices.

Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to an image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus may receive, from an identification unit, data indicative of a biometric characteristic of a user. The image forming apparatus may also obtain, from a storage unit, information associated with the user. The information includes user-specific information and data indicative of a stored version of the biometric characteristic of the user. The image forming apparatus may further determine that the user is registered based at least on a match between the received biometric characteristic and the stored version of the biometric characteristic. Additionally, the image forming apparatus may display a portion of the user-specific information on a display unit of an image forming apparatus.
