Abstract:
This invention discloses a Pulfrich Filter Spectacles through which any 2-dimensional motion picture with passages of horizontal screen movement can be viewed with a 3-dimensional visual effect. It provides a system of timed signals to move a Pulfrich filter before one eye or the other as appropriate to the current direction of screen foreground movement. The Pulfrich Filter Spectacles achieve this by taking advantage of the well-known Pulfrich effect, by which lateral motion of an ordinary motion picture will appear to the viewer in 3-dimensions if the motion picture is viewed through right and left filter lenses that are configured with a clear lens and an occluded or tinted lens. In the preferred embodiment, this is implemented by modifying the soundtrack of a movie to include sounds beyond human hearing (ultrasonic sounds) that signal at appropriate places/times in the course of presentation of a motion picture to switch the filter to the appropriate eye. The preferred embodiment provide Pulfrich Filter Spectacles with no moving parts and no wire connections using material that partially occludes or entirely clears in response to the received electronic signals. This electronic adaptation of Pulfrich filtering will allow almost any motion picture to be viewed effortlessly by the viewer with the visual effect of 3-dimensions.
Abstract:
A method and mechanism for identifying one or more transactions that have modified or created an object in a database system. Also disclosed is a method and mechanism to compensate for the effects of a transaction in a database system is disclosed. The disclosed approach can be applied to perform auditing for changes and/or transactions in a database system and for identifying the scope of changes and data accesses made by a transaction in the system.
Abstract:
The method uses three pictures, A, B and C, two of which are substantially similar pictures having images, A, B, and one that is dissimilar, usually a solid color, C. Continuous movement is created by repetitively viewing the series A, B, C. Additionally, each picture can be blended or superimposed to create a blended A/B, C/A and B/C and then the blend put together with the others, in a series, C/A, A, A/B, B, B/C, C. This series is then repeated a plurality of times to create an illusion of sustained, ongoing motion with a degree of three-dimensionality, with synchronous Pulfrich light-filtering available to enhance the effect.
Abstract:
A concealed mounting assembly for a sliding door includes mounting brackets that are first secured to a substrate. Top and bottom sliding door tracks are then press fit onto the mounting brackets to secure the tracks to the substrate. The tracks and mounting brackets have complementary contoured surfaces that engage each other when the tracks are press fit on to the mounting brackets. Once installed, the mounting brackets are concealed between the tracks and the substrate.
