Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product are disclosed for reporting time and frequency compensation updates to a base station in a 5G network. In this regard, an example method is configured to determine an actual time domain window based at least in part on a time domain window received at the user equipment from a base station, and on at least one adjustment to at least one of time or frequency of a reference signal due to a physical characteristic of a transmission environment. The example method may further cause a compensation report to be transmitted to the base station in a control channel message within the uplink communication stream. The compensation report includes an indication of the at least one adjustment. The method further causes the reference signal to be transmitted in the actual time domain window to the base station.

Abstract: To enable at least dynamic waveform switching, at least one predefined bit, in a downlink control information comprising scheduling information for at least one uplink transmission, may have a first preset purpose and a second preset purpose. One or more preset first rules may be applied to determine whether to use the at least one predefined bit for the first preset purpose or for the second preset purpose. When the second preset purpose is used, at least a waveform for the at least one uplink transmission amongst waveforms comprising at least a first waveform and a second waveform is determined, according to one or more preset second rules, based on a value of the at least one predefined bit. The waveform determined is then used in the uplink transmission scheduled.

In a method, a device determines a set of valid random access channel occasions (ROs) for a physical random access channel (PRACH) transmission with preamble repetitions. The device determines that the PRACH transmission is to be dropped in at least one RO of the set of valid ROs. The device determines one or more ROs of the set of valid ROs for calculation of a random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI), the one or more ROs for calculation of the RA-RNTI are not conditioned to whether the corresponding PRACH transmission over the one or more ROs is to be dropped. Then the device calculates the RA-RNTI based on the determined one or more ROs of the set of valid ROs.
