A first time signal for the physical uplink control channel and a second time signal for the physical uplink control channel are generated based on contents of a resource element in an OFDM symbol. The first time signal is present in the OFDM symbol. A demodulation reference signal for the physical uplink control channel is mapped to the resource element, based on the OFDM symbol. The second time signal is transmitted before the OFDM symbol.
