Abstract: A genetically modified yeast cell comprising increased glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase activity converting glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate to 1,3-diphosphoglycerate as compared to a parent yeast cell of the same type, and reduced glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase activity converting dihydroxyacetone phosphate to glycerol-3-phosphate compared to a parent yeast cell of the same type, and related compositions and methods.
