    Abstract: A drain strainer assembly includes a housing having a circular cross-section, with an inlet port, an outlet port, and a plurality of first engagement tabs. The drain strainer assembly also includes a strainer member assembly having a circular cross-section. The strainer member assembly includes a strainer member with a solid front surface having a handle and a plurality of second engagement tabs interlocked with the first engagement tabs on the housing. The strainer member also includes cylindrical strainer sidewalls defining a circular opening at the back of the strainer member, and has an upper conduit aligned with the inlet port of the housing. The strainer member assembly also includes a circular strainer disk coupled to the strainer member with a fastener and covering the circular opening at the back of the strainer member.

    Abstract: A system and method include a trash container configured to retain trash within an internal chamber. A sink is configured to retain water. The sink includes a drain configured to allow the water to pass out of the sink. A water outlet is disposed proximate to a top of the internal chamber of the trash container. One or more conduits fluidly connect the drain to the water outlet. The water outlet is configured to receive the water that passes out of the sink via the one or more conduits. The water saturates and compacts the trash within the internal chamber.

    Abstract: A vehicle includes an internal cabin. One or more areas are within the internal cabin. The one or more areas include one or more water-drawing components. A water supply system is within the internal cabin. The water supply system is configured to provide water to the one or more water-drawing components. A water leak detection system includes one or more sensing devices configured to detect water flow from the water supply system to the one or more water-drawing components. One or more shut-off valves are disposed on or within the water supply system. A control unit is in communication with the one or more sensing devices, the one or more shut-off valves, and the one or more water-drawing components. The control unit is configured to operate the one or more shut-off valves to stop the supply of water to the one or more water-drawing components in response to the one or more sensing devices detecting the water flow when the one or more water-drawing components are not in use.

    Abstract: A fire suppression system for an enclosed space, such as within a lavatory of a vehicle, includes a first inner gate, a second inner gate coupled to the first inner gate to define one or more air channels therethrough, and a temperature-responsive device coupled to one or both of the first inner gate or the second inner gate. The temperature-responsive device is configured to be in a first state below a predetermined temperature threshold, and a second state above the predetermined temperature threshold.
