At least one seal seating groove (92) runs radially around the outside of at least one opening. At least one seal (90) is arranged in at least one seal seating groove (92) and has at least one sealing surface (98) oriented radially and/or axially with respect to the coupling axis (24) for contact against at least one sealing surface (25) on the filter-head side that is oriented radially and/or axially with respect to the coupling axis (24) to seal at least one fluid compartment (36) formed between the replaceable filter (14) and the filter head (12) from the surrounding environment (100).
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a filter housing with a removable filter assembly having an elongated shell assembly, a removable head assembly, and a removable filter assembly. The shell assembly has an inlet section, an outlet section, and a filter assembly opening. The removable filter cartridge includes a top tube sheet, a bottom tube sheet and a plurality of filter cartridges. The filter cartridges provide the only fluid passage through the bottom tube sheet, which otherwise sealing engages a ring assembly within the shell assembly proximate to the outlet section.
Abstract:
A combination (10) of a replaceable filter element (21) and a core element (38) is provided, the filter element comprising a tubular wall (25) of filtration medium for collecting material in a fluid stream passing through the tubular wall (25), a first end part (26) and a second end part. The core element (38) comprises a perforated tube (39) having transverse outer dimensions smaller than transverse inner dimensions of the tubular wall (25), and a bypass valve member (35) provided at one end of the perforated tube (39). The bypass valve member (35) is tubular and moveably attached to the perforated tube (39) for movement in axial direction with respect to the perforated tube (39) between an extended position and a retracted position. The first end part (26) of the filter element (21) comprises an axial passage (29) configured to receive the bypass valve member (35) slideable and sealingly.
Abstract:
A liquid filter cartridge is provided. Preferred seal arrangements are provided, to provide for preferred axial load conditions, with respect to one or more of the end caps of the cartridge. Some cartridge configurations provided include no core structure or outer liner structure therein, to support axial load. Assemblies using the cartridge, and methods of assembly and use, are provided. The liquid filter cartridge can be a serviceable cartridge, or it can be retained permanently in a housing.
Abstract:
Provided is a cartridge assembly having first and second cartridges sealed by an interface member having a first sealing member along a radially outer surface thereof having a non-planar geometry around the outer surface and a second sealing member along the radially outer surface having a non-planar geometry around the outer surface. The sealing members may each have a repeating, undulating, non-planar geometry around the outer surface. The cartridges have ends with matching geometries to allow the cartridges to engage in surface-to-surface relation around their entire extents to create with the interface member an air tight seal.
Abstract:
A filter cartridge in accordance with the present disclosure has a longitudinal axis and comprises a housing, a filter element, and a collar. The housing has a generally cylindrical sidewall and defines an open first end, an axially opposite second end, and a flange projecting radially away from the axis at the first end. The filter element has a ring of filter media circumscribing the axis and extending between first and second end caps. The first end cap has a generally cylindrical wall extending axially between first and second peripheral rims. The wall defines first and second seal glands adjacent the first and second rims which receive first and second seal members, respectively. A ledge projects radially outwardly from the cylindrical wall. The collar has an annular sidewall having a shoulder projecting from an inner surface. The ledge and the shoulder radially overlap and retain the flange therebetween.
Abstract:
A multi-component end cap is provided. The multiple components combine to form one or more seal carriers where each seal carrier is formed in part by at least two different ones of the components. Methods of manufacturing an end cap having multiple components are also provided.

Abstract:
A filter and replaceable filter leaf apparatus are provided. The filter includes a housing defining a cavity having fluid inlet and outlet ports and a lid member with a manifold coupled to the outlet port and being adapted to conduct a fluid flow between the outlet port and a plurality of attachment areas. Replaceable filter leafs are selectively movable through an opening into the housing cavity and attachable with the manifold at the plurality of attachment areas. The replaceable filter leafs include a filter envelope consisting of a single substantially rectangular filter panel, a nozzle member on the filter panel and defining a passageway adjacent an opening in the filter envelope for conducting fluids therethrough, and a porous grid member contained within the filter envelope. The nozzle member is selectively attachable onto the manifold of the polishing filter apparatus at one of the plurality of attachment areas. In one form, the filter envelope includes a folded rectangular filter panel with the nozzle member disposed at an outer edge thereof. In another embodiment, the nozzle member is located at a crease line formed in the filter panel. In yet another, a pair of filter panels are connected at their edges with the nozzle member located along a selected edge as desired. The filter leaf apparatus are installed onto the manifold along attachment axes extending through the housing opening.
Abstract:
An annular member carried by one of a pair of concentric tubular members, one of which is stationary and the other of whice is mounted for rotary movement, the annular member defining an axially opening annular recess containing a sealing ring backed up by an annular compressible element disposed between the sealing ring and the bottom of the annular recess. A circumferential flange, carried by the other tubular member, has a marginal edge surface disposed in face to face sliding engagement with the sealing ring, the compressible element being under predetermined compression during such engagement.
