    Abstract: A transmitter device for coupling to a vehicle and for conducting a transmission to a remote system includes a transmitter and a processing circuit coupled to the transmitter and having an input interface. The input interface is coupled to an existing user interface of the vehicle for receiving an input to cause the transmitter to conduct its transmission to the remote system. The input interface is coupled to a vehicle sensor for receiving a vehicle sensor input including a motion status of the vehicle. The processing circuit is configured to prevent the transmitter from conducting its transmission to the remote system unless the motion status of the vehicle indicates the vehicle is travelling at a speed less than a threshold speed.

    Abstract: A system includes a master controller disposed on a transit vehicle, a peripheral device disposed on the transit vehicle, a first wireless subsystem communicably coupled to the master controller, and a second wireless subsystem communicably coupled to the peripheral device. The master controller is operable to send a signal to the peripheral device via the first wireless subsystem, the signal comprising a command related to operation of the peripheral device. The peripheral device is operable to receive the signal via the second wireless subsystem and execute the command. The system utilizes a wireless protocol that specifies a unique identification for the system. The master controller and the peripheral device are each configured via the wireless protocol. The configuration includes storage of the unique identification and operability to restrict wireless communication to wireless communication with other devices so configured.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods, apparatus, and devices for binding a remote control to a remotely controllable device. In one implementation, a method is disclosed, including: acquiring, by the remote control, a binding operation instruction; sending, by the remote control, a binding request containing identification information of the remote control to a remotely controllable device with which the remote control is to be bound such that the remotely controllable device generates a binding response message in response to the binding request, wherein the binding response message comprises authentication information for binding the remote control; receiving, by the remote control, the binding response message from the remotely controllable device; and performing, by the remote control, binding with the remotely controllable device based on the binding response message, such that the remotely controllable device becomes bound to the remote control and the remote control becomes capable of controlling the bound remotely controllable device.

    Abstract: Various embodiments provide a systems and methods for a remote-control device to limit changes from one mode to a plurality of different modes. In response to a particular button press, sequence of button activations, time-dependent button presses and/or other type of input being entered on the remote-control device indicative of a command to limit mode changes, remote-control device prevents changing from one mode to a plurality of different modes until another command or input is received to allow such mode changes. The plurality of modes which the remote-control device is prevented changing to or changing from may be selectable by the user.
