Abstract:
A display device having a heat-proof insulating base plate having formed therein on one side a plurality of grooves, a plurality of cathodes disposed in the grooves in a manner not to project out from the surface of the base plate, an anode common to the cathodes and a transparent glass tube envelope having enclosed therein all the elements mentioned above, and a method of sealing the glass tube envelope by the use of infrared ray absorbing glass of low melting point.
Abstract:
A gas discharge panel display device comprising a planar dielectric member having a plurality of gas cell forming holes arrayed therein and disposed intermediate a pair of exterior planar dielectric members. An electrode configuration for firing the gas cells includes an external electrode structure positioned on the outer surface of one of the exterior members operating in conjunction with an internal electrode arrangement positioned on the remote surface of the intermediate member, holes being formed in the internal electrode structure in overlaying relation with and conforming to the shape of the gas cells.
Abstract:
In an indicator tube, of the glow discharge type, a dielectric body is formed with a plurality of cutouts in a profile corresponding to different intelligence symbols. All cutouts communicate with each other through ports and contain a gaseous discharge medium. Portions of each cutout are coated with a conductor to form a pair of electrodes. A symbol is displayed by the indicator tube when the electrodes of selected cutouts are energized.
Abstract:
A cold cathode gas discharge lamp having a ring of radially directed cathode elements on an electrically insulating substrate underlying a pair of concentric transparent ring anodes of different diameter for displaying aircraft heading and aircraft bearing (with respect to ground radio transmitters), respectively. Additional cathode elements are placed inside the aforesaid cathode rings on the same substrate underlying a third transparent anode for the display of alpha-numeric (distance) and annunciator data. Selected ones of the cathodes and anodes are energized to cause localized glow discharges viewable through the anodes for representing desired data.
Abstract:
A light emitting device includes a main body that defines an inner space therein and that includes a light-transmissive part, a light emitting unit disposed in the inner space, and an electrode. The electrode has a device-connecting portion electrically connected to and extending from the light emitting unit, a power-connecting portion disposed outwardly of the main body and electrically connected to an electric power source, and a resistance-configurable portion that extends between and that interconnects electrically the device-connecting portion and the power-connecting portion and that is configurable to set resistance of the electrode.
