    Abstract: A reference imaging system including a planar reference piece. The reference imaging system further includes a three-axis gantry for positioning the planar reference piece at a plurality of points in a 3D coordinate system. Additionally, the reference imaging system includes a yaw actuator for adjusting the yaw angle of the object. Furthermore, the reference imaging system includes a pitch actuator for adjusting the pitch of the object. Moreover, the reference imaging system includes a computer processing unit for controlling the 3D position, pitch and yaw of the planar reference piece.

    Abstract: A display unit is controlled so that a plurality of parameter setting screens respectively corresponding to a plurality of steps sequentially executed in a predetermined order in quantitation is sequentially displayed and a plurality of step indexes respectively corresponding to the plurality of steps is displayed. In a plurality of parameter setting screens, inputting of a plurality of parameters respectively corresponding to the plurality of steps is received. Each time inputting of parameters in each parameter setting screen is completed, the received parameters are set in an unchangeable manner. The display unit is controlled so that each time parameters are set in one parameter setting screen, the next parameter setting screen is displayed, and the step index corresponding to the displayed parameter setting screen which is being displayed among the plurality of step indexes is displayed in such a manner as to be distinguishable from the other step indexes. A spectrophotometer is controlled based on the set parameters. The sample is quantified by a quantitative execution unit based on the set plurality of parameters.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for color selection are provided. A web server stores a lookup table that associates room types and types of feelings with paint colors such that each possible combination of room type and type of feeling is associated with a subset of paint colors. A user device displays the room types, receives a room type selection indicating a particular room type, displays the types of feelings, receives a type of feeling selection indicating a particular type of feeling, accesses the lookup table and determines the associated subset of paint colors in the lookup table for the combination of the particular room type and the particular type of feeling, and displays the associated subset of paint colors as recommended paint colors for the combination of the particular room type and the particular type of feeling on the display of the user device.

    Abstract: A small scale and low cost spectral sensing system designed primarily for multi-component fluids that provides a compact, low cost platform for analyzers or chemical sensors with limited number of optical and mechanical components featuring a light source, an optical interface with the sample, and a custom detector (multi-element). A single detector element has a specific wavelength, defined by a filter that can be used to select and measure specific chemical compounds. Multiple detector elements are combined to create a multi-channel detector capable of measuring a broad range of wavelengths from ultraviolet (UV) to near and mid-infrared wavelengths. The fabricated sensor can be configured for almost any class of material including gases, vapors, and liquids, with extension to solids. This is linked to the use of the custom detectors featuring filters tailored to specific substances in a broad spectral range from the UV to infrared.

    Abstract: A receiver receives a wide band signal in a range comprising a front end to the receiver including a complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS). The CMOS includes a dipole antenna that receives a received signal; a hybrid-based broadband isolation structure that receives the received signal and a local oscillator LO signal and passes through the LO signal to a sub-harmonic mixer. The sub-harmonic mixer mixes the received signal with the local oscillator signal to generate an intermediate frequency (IF) signal to the hybrid-based broadband isolation structure.

    Abstract: A method of analyzing a substrate contacting a fluid present in an industrial system is provided. The method comprises creating a series of digital images of the substrate while contacting the fluid present in the industrial system. A region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate is defined. A corrosion feature in the region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate is identified. The corrosion feature in the region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate is analyzed to determine a corrosion trend of the industrial system. In certain embodiments of the method, the fluid is industrial water, and the industrial system is an industrial water system.
