Abstract:
A pneumatic tyre comprises a tread portion, a pair of opposing sidewall portions and a pair of opposing bead portions, the tread portion extending radially outwards from the sidewall portions and the sidewall portions extending radially outwards from the bead portions, wherein each bead portion comprises an axially inward side and an axially outward side which are joined at a base of the bead portion and each axially outward side of the bead portion comprises a concave region extending axially inwards. Each concave region further comprises a convex region located within the concave region which extends axially outwards.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a molded article (11) of a rubber polymer to which another article (12) is detachably connected. The method comprises the steps of providing a coupling means (2), comprising a first (2a) and second (2b) member, both of which are provided with interlocking elements (21,22) along connectable edges, the interlocking elements (21,22) being configured to interlock in a substantially continuous way along the edges in the connected state, and unlock in the disconnected state; integrating the first member (2a) and the molded article (11), such that its interlocking elements (21) are available for connection; integrating the second member (2b) and the other article (12), such that its interlocking elements (22) are available for connection; and interlocking the interlocking elements (21,22) of the first and second member (2a,2b) to produce the detachable connection between the articles. The invention further relates to a vehicle spoiler (1), portions of which are mutually connected by the method of the invention.
Abstract:
A vehicle front spoiler comprises a flexible airflow guiding element provided in a region of a front part of the vehicle and extending in a transverse direction Y of the vehicle, and an actuating member, configured to move the airflow guiding element relative to said part of the vehicle between an extended operative position and a retracted inoperative position in which the airflow guiding element is folded rearwards to behind said vehicle part. The airflow guiding element is made of a rubber composition comprising an anisotropic textile structure of reinforcement cord having an elongation at break in the Y-direction of from 5% to 50%, and an elongation at break in the Z-direction lower than the elongation at break in the Y-direction, and is readily moved between the operative and the inoperative position with relatively low hysteresis losses.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a polymer composition comprising 60-99 parts by weight of a first copolymer of monomer units of ethylene and an alpha-olefin, wherein the ethylene monomer unit content ranges from 45 to 56 wt. %, 1-20 parts by weight of a second copolymer of monomer units of ethylene and an alpha-olefin, and 0-20 parts by weight of a natural rubber. The invention further relates to a method for the preparation of the polymer composition. The vulcanized polymer composition is advantageously used in articles that need to be flexed at low temperatures.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cross-linkable rubber composition, a cross-linked rubber composition obtained by cross-linking such a rubber composition, a method of preparing a tyre and a tyre. The cross-linkable rubber composition comprises, per hundred parts by weight of rubber (phr): ≥10 phr to ≤20 phr of a natural rubber or an isoprene rubber or a combination thereof; a filler; a resin, and first and second coupling agents, wherein the first coupling agent is a mercaptosilane and the second coupling agent is a silane selected from a disulfide silane, a tetrasulfide silane, or a combination thereof, wherein the rubber composition comprises ≥80 phr to ≤90 phr of a solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR) comprising an alkoxysilane group and a primary amino group, and wherein the weight by weight ratio of the mercaptosilane to the silane is in a range of ≥2:1 to ≤4:1.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for chemically adhering a diene rubber to a piezoelectric polymer, the method comprising the steps of: a) providing a piezoelectric polymer having at least one surface, b) providing a rubber component having at least one surface and comprising a sulfur cross-linkable rubber composition, c) introducing oxygen-containing functional groups on the at least one surface of the piezoelectric polymer, d) reacting the oxygen-containing functional groups with a compound comprising thiocyanate groups, and e) contacting the surface of the piezoelectric polymer obtained of step d) with the surface of the rubber component, and cross-linking.
