Abstract:
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments for visual editing of animal feed formulations. Some embodiments display a visual hierarchy representing a structure of ingredients included in an animal feed formulation. By graphically manipulating the visual hierarchy, the animal feed formulation is edited accordingly. In some embodiments, a first ingredient can be dragged from an ingredient palette to the hierarchy, and dropped on a target node representing a second ingredient. The first ingredient is then added to a list of ingredients included in the second ingredient. In some embodiments, an ingredient can be deleted from the animal feed formulation by selecting a node in the hierarchy that represents the ingredient, and deleting the node from the hierarchy. Any child nodes of the deleted node are also deleted from the hierarchy, and the ingredients they represent also deleted from the animal feed formulation.
Abstract:
A functional soybean meal includes soybean meal and a functional additive that includes a phytogenic feed additive, a medium-chain fatty acid, an organic acid, or a combination thereof. Also provided are animal feeds and animal feed products including the functional soybean meal, methods of feeding an animal the functional soybean meal, and methods of making the functional soybean meal.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to dissolvable containers for animal feed micro-ingredients, and methods for using such dissolvable containers to prepare an animal feed mixture. Ingredients required in very small amounts with respect to the rest of the components in an animal feed, i.e., micro-ingredients, can be pre-measured and sealed within the dissolvable containers, which can be made from a water-soluble polymer film, then added to the other feed components when the complete animal feed is being prepared.
Abstract:
Various embodiments relate to monoglyceride use in animals such as post-weaning pigs. A method of feeding an animal includes feeding the animal a diet comprising one or more monoglycerides. Various embodiments provide concentrates, premixes, top dresses, or complete feeds for carrying out the method and methods of making the same.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to methods of making a feed pellet for an animal by agglomerating at least two ingredients in a first apparatus to form a plurality of nuclei and tumbling the plurality of nuclei in a second apparatus and simultaneously providing additional amounts of the at least two ingredients to the second apparatus, thereby forming a plurality of feed pellets for an animal. The present disclosure also relates to associated feed pellets and systems.
Abstract:
An extruded, pressed or particulate fish feed is described. Also described is a method for reduction of the content of undesired nutrients in water discharged from a fish farm, and a process for increasing the mechanical strength or shear resistance of faeces from fish in a fish farm.
Abstract:
A system for and method of determining a formulation for an animal feed having a customized heat increment value. The system can include an animal profile, an animal nutrient requirement profile, an evaluation criteria, and/or ingredient nutrient content profiles. The information contained in the profiles and criteria can be used to calculate a formulation having a desirable heat increment value. The heat increment value can be used to maximize satisfaction of an evaluation criteria.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to feed stuffs for fish to prevent, treat and/or control a variety of diseases, infections and/or infestations in fish. The invention provides supplemented fish feed and other compositions as well as uses and methods exploiting the same. Additionally, the patent provides methods of making supplemented fish feeds.

Abstract:
Disclosed are various approaches for determining an animal feed formulation. In some implementations, a system may obtain data that provides characteristics of an animal population located at a site. The system may identify a target growth schedule for the animal population. The system may use a data processing model to predict nutrition requirements for tissue growth in the animal population, using the target growth schedule and the characteristics of the animal population, as the model predicts nutrition requirements based on projected nitrogenous energy requirements for the tissue growth. The system may identify a feed formulation producible from a combination of animal feed ingredients to satisfy the nutrition requirements for tissue growth. The system may generate a data output for use of the feed formulation with the animal population, the data output indicating the identified feed formulation producible from the combination of animal feed ingredients.
