Abstract:
Low-noise-level internal combustion Vee-engine with a skeletal engine unit support and the cylinder head mounted thereon, auxiliary units rigidly connected to the skeletal engine unit support and the cylinder head, an engine case surrounding the engine unit support and connected to same by at least one sound-absorbing member.
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine comprises an engine unit support which contains the engine parts directly affected by body resonance (cylinderhead, cylinder, piston, connecting rod, crankshaft main bearing, and crankshaft) and a crankcase connected to the engine unit support by flanges located above the crankshaft. The crankshaft main bearings consist of bearing blocks and bearing caps which are connectable to main bearing units independently from the main bearing bolts. The bearing units are detachably secured to the engine unit support. The crankcase is provided with at least one aperture closed by at least one cover part below the crankshaft, said apertures providing access to the main bearing bolts. Dismounting of the engine unit support is enabled with the crankshaft and the main bearing units mounted thereon remaining in the crankcase and the crankcase remaining mounted on its place, for instance in a vehicle.
Abstract:
A compression ignition direct injection internal combustion engine comprising at least each one cylinder, a piston and an injection nozzle, the cylinder having an inlet port for inducing rotation of the incoming air about the axis of the cylinder and a combustion chamber or cavity in the form of a body of rotation disposed in the piston, said chamber having, below the crown of the piston, a constriction which divides the chamber into an upper and a lower part.
Abstract:
Apparatus for transporting containers to and from a working station comprises at least one intermittently rotatable transporting disc provided with a plurality of circumferentially spaced cutouts, which preferably extend in radial direction from the periphery of the transporting disc into the latter, and having each a length to receive two containers, while providing a clearance space for moving the containers in radial direction away from each other. The apparatus includes further means for feeding the containers into the cutouts, means, spaced in circumferential direction of the transporting disc from the feeding means, to discharge the containers from the cutouts, a working station between the feeding and the discharging means, and guide means for moving the containers in each cutout, during their movement from the feeding means to the working station, to space the containers at a predetermined distance from each other necessary for an operation to be performed thereon at the working station.
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine, in particular a Diesel engine, comprising at least one inlet duct consisting of a delivery portion and an adjoining duct portion wound spiral-fashion around the shaft of the associated intake valve, the upper wall of which bulges downwardly at the point of transition from the delivery portion to the spiral-shaped duct portion in such a manner that the cross-sectional area of the inlet duct is reduced above the valve diameter extending at a right angle in relation to the axis of the delivery portion.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a test element as a single-use article for examining a body fluid, comprising a lancing member that can be inserted into a body part, a collecting area configured thereon for body fluid obtained by the lancing and at least one light guide for an optical measurement in the collecting area. The collecting area is formed by a collection recess of the lancing member which extends in the lancing direction and the light guide is integrated into the lancing member such that it is secure against displacement and the distal end thereof is arranged in a proximal measurement zone of the collection recess.
Abstract:
A system for determining an analyte in a body fluid includes a magazine comprising two partial magazines, one including chambers containing analysis elements having a sample contact zone and a reagent system containing a reagent, whose reaction with the body fluid results in a change of a variable, and another including chambers containing puncturing elements having a tip having a capillary channel, which forms a fluid connection between the tip and a sample transfer zone of the puncturing element. The system may also include an analysis instrument having a puncturing drive for driving a puncturing element on a movement path, a mounting for receiving the magazine such that one chamber of the magazine at a time is located in a functional position, in which a puncturing element in the chamber can be moved by the puncturing drive, and a measuring and evaluation apparatus for measuring the change of the variable.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a control device for a medical test system which has a lancing element that can be inserted into body tissue to collect body fluid and a lancing drive for the lancing element. A sensor element for body fluid is arranged on the lancing element and a control unit is coupled to the sensor element for detecting a fault when collecting body fluid. In order to improve the success rate, the control unit actuates the lancing drive for an automatic puncture repetition in less than 1 second when a fault, e.g., inadequate wetting of a detection field, occurs.
Abstract:
A blood collection system for collecting blood from a body part for diagnostic purposes, comprising a housing with a lancet guide, by which a lancet is guided on a predetermined puncture path, and a lancet drive for driving a puncturing movement of the lancet on the predetermined puncture path. The puncturing movement comprises a forward movement phase in the direction of puncturing and, after reaching a reversal point, a subsequent retraction movement phase in the direction opposite the puncture direction. The lancet drive has a driving spring, which is arranged behind the lancet and is connected to the lancet during the forward movement phase of the puncturing movement so that the lancet is driven in the puncturing direction. The system comprises an oscillation control device for controlling oscillation of the lancet and the driving spring in such a manner that repeated puncturing of the body part by the lancet is prevented.
Abstract:
Analysis system for determining an analyte in a body fluid is presented. The system comprises a reusable analysis instrument and a magazine having a plurality of integrated sample acquisition and analyzing elements. Each element comprises a puncturing element and an analyzing element. A coupling unit couples the integrated sample acquisition and analyzing element to a drive. The magazine comprises a housing having a plurality of elongate neighboring chambers separated by two side walls running in a longitudinal. The chambers contain the integrated sample acquisition and analyzing element. The chambers have an exit opening allowing for the at least partial exiting of the puncturing element. The chambers of the magazine are accessible to a coupling element that can be formfitting coupled to the coupling structure of the puncturing element, when the puncturing element is in the chamber of the magazine and the magazine is located in a holder.
