Abstract:
The invention relates to an optical lens holder (1) comprising a supporting means (2) and a first and a second arm (10, 20, 30) defining a lens holder general plane, first and second arms being relatively movable with regards to each other and each arm having spaced apart first and second end portions (10a, 20a, 30a, 10c, 20c, 30c) and an intermediate portion (10b, 20b, 30b), the arms being mounted on the supporting means through their first end portions and the second end portions of each arm comprising an optical lens accommodating means (21, 22) facing each other, whereby an optical lens (3) can be maintained within the accommodating means of the first and second arms with its optical axis orthogonal to the general plane of the lens holder through at least one, preferably one or two contact points between the lens periphery and each of the first and second lens accommodating means, wherein at least the second end portion of each arm comprises a material having a dielectric constant at 1 MHz equal to or higher than the dielectric constant of the optical lens material.
Abstract:
Over the years there have been numerous attempts to improve the can lid oftentimes found on aluminum beverage can lids. The aims have traditionally been to reduce costs and improve performance. These aims have been accomplished through a variety of means, such as creating different formations within the can lid to reduce the amount of metal used while maintaining performance levels. Here, step portions are utilized between the annular countersink and the center panel of the can lid that cause a curvature of the center panel or to simply provide an angled inside wall. These formations, thus, reduce the amount of metal used while maintaining quality and yielding the desired performace.

Abstract:
A laminated assembly comprising a base sheet and a screen mesh laminated thereto in a tensioned state relative to the base sheet is provided. A screen printing screen is made therefrom by fixing the assembly on a screen printing frame and removing the base sheet from the assembly whereby to leave the screen mesh tensioned on the frame. By suitable choice of tension in the assembly screens having uniform and controlled mesh tension values may be produced quickly without previous cumbersome procedures.
Abstract:
A request for information relating to a commodity is sent to a server using a client computer. The requested commodity information is received at the client computer and rendered on a display. A client action with respect to the commodity information is detected, and, using the client computer, a determination is made whether communication with the server is required to respond to the client action and, if the communication is not necessary, responding to the client action without communicating with the server regarding the response.
Abstract:
Any of various types of mail management information may be synthesized from data associated with physical mail items. For example, addresses, complete with addressee names, could be synthesized from data collected from physical mail items. Confidence information which indicates a measure of confidence that each synthesized address is a valid address could also be generated from the collected data. Intelligence functions may be provided to enhance address synthesis capabilities. More generally, input data for synthesis of mail management information could include data collected from physical mail items, other mail management information, or both. Features such as service delivery compliance management, network proficiency management, delivery route proficiency management, customer compliance management, a visibility service, address cleansing, delivery notification, addressee verification, synthesis of statistics, and/or synthesis of behavioral patterns could be implemented.
Abstract:
A bandwidth-driven system, method, and computer program product are provided for changing a refresh rate of a display system. In use, a bandwidth associated with a display system is identified. To this end, a refresh rate of the display system may be changed for controlling the bandwidth.

Abstract:
A system, method, and apparatus are directed towards managing an audio message, such as a Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) message over a network. The invention employs a statistical mechanism to automatically optimize a gain control for setting a volume of an audio message being sent by a client device. An initial gain value is automatically adjusted based, in part, on a statistical sampling of energy levels in the audio message. Environmental factors, such as a sound card within the client device, background noise, and the like, may also be considered through a setting of a servo coefficient that may be used to map between volume levels and decibel levels. The servo coefficient may also be adjusted based, at least in part, on decibel (dB) feedback information from a destination device for which the audio message is intended.
