Abstract: A vehicle force measurement assembly includes a first rod, a second rod and an electronic controller. The first rod has a strain gauge mounted thereon. The first rod is dimensioned and configured to install to a first side of a vehicle door and a first side of a door opening of a vehicle body structure. The second rod is dimensioned and configured to install to a second side of the vehicle door and a second side of the door opening. The electronic controller is connected to the strain gauge and is wired and configured to detect forces applied to the first rod by the vehicle door in response to predetermined amounts of force being applied to the vehicle door.

Abstract: A vehicle hood lever assembly has a latch mechanism, a latch lever and a striker structure. The latch mechanism has a latching member movable between a hood locking orientation and a hood unlocking orientation. The latch lever attaches to the latch mechanism at a location spaced apart from the latching member movable between a hood catching orientation and a hood release orientation. The striker structure has a main striker member and a secondary striker member. With the striker structure moving toward the latch mechanism, a surface of the secondary striker member contacts a portion of the latch lever moving the latch lever from the hood release orientation to the hood catching orientation. In response to continued movement of the striker structure toward the latch mechanism, the main striker member engages the latching member and is restrained against further movement with the latching member being moved into the hood locking orientation.

Abstract: A rear door assembly having a bracket, a rear door, a first movement mechanism and a second movement mechanism. The rear door has a lateral side with a slot formed therein. The first movement mechanism is attached to a rearward area of a vehicle body structure and is configured to move the bracket and the rear door from a closed orientation covering a rear opening in the vehicle body structure to at least an intermediate orientation partially uncovering the rear opening. The bracket has a pair of support pins extending in that extend into the slot with the support pins being supported on rollers within the slot. The second movement mechanism is disposed within the rear door to move the rear door relative to the support pins of the bracket along the slot.

Abstract: A vehicle door is disclosed that includes: an outer panel; an inner panel located inboard of the outer panel; a window channel; a window glass; a structural beam; and a reinforcement member supported by the inner panel and the structural beam so as to inhibit force transmission through the vehicle door during a side impact.
