Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to methods and systems for controlling fluid parameters within a detector. A first and second fluid pump manager control the flow of a first and second fluid to one or more heating/cooling devices, and a mixer receives and mixes the first and second fluids. An optical detector flow cell receives the fluid mixture from the mixer, and a pressure regulator controls the pressure at the optical detector flow cell. Thus, the composition, temperature, and pressure of a fluid mixture entering an optical detector flow cell can be controlled in real time.

Abstract: Described is a method for regulating a volume of liquid delivered by a peristaltic pump and a peristaltic pump system that can be used to perform the method. The method includes sensing an ambient temperature of the peristaltic pump. The peristaltic pump includes a pump motor. At least one of a motor speed and a motor operation duration is determined from the sensed temperature, a selected volume of liquid to be delivered and a predetermined correspondence of the motor speed to ambient temperature. The pump motor is operated at the determined motor speed or for the determined motor operation duration to deliver the selected volume of liquid from the peristaltic pump.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for using chemical tags which have two or more sites for ionization to improve quantification and identification of components of interest from a complex mixture. This method relies on first selectively reacting one or more component in a sample with a chemical tag having two or more sites for ionization, followed by separation of components based on charge status, and finally characterization of each component to identify the same. Additionally disclosed are compounds useful as chemical tags in the disclosed methods.
