    Abstract: A problem with online transactions is that a customer may unwillingly be profiled by a corporate entity. To hinder such profiling, a customer may occasionally generate a public/private key pair, and present the public key to a digital token service for use as a pseudonym included in tokens issued to the customer. A subsequent assignment of the digital token to a corporate entity can then be performed by adding the public key of the corporate entity to the token, and signing the combination with the private key which pairs with the pseudonymous public key in the token. A return transaction from the corporate entity to the customer can then add the pseudonymous public key to a return digital token and sign the combination with the corporate entity's private key. Routing the digital token to the customer may be achieved by replying directly to the anonymous inbound token.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for shadow detection and reduction during document capture are disclosed herein. Temporary images of hardcopy documents are analyzed to determine the presence of a shadow or hotspot that obscures information of the hardcopy document. In response to detecting the shadow or hotspot, a controllable light source is used to illuminate the hardcopy document at predicted and/or predetermined intensities to minimize or eliminate the shadow on the hardcopy document. A permanent image of the hardcopy document illuminated by the controllable light source at the intensity that minimizes or eliminates the shadow is then stored. In this way, information of the hardcopy document (such as text, color, layout, spacing etc.) is increased in the permanent image and a need for post-processing the permanent image is reduced or eliminated.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for predictive mesh coding based on a centroid-normal (C-N) representation. An encoder generates C-N representations of a high-resolution (hi-res) mesh and a downscaling of the mesh (lo-res mesh), each representation having respective centroids and normals. The encoder generates predicted centroids corresponding to the hi-res mesh based on the lo-res centroids using a centroid prediction model. The encoder generates predicted normals corresponding to the hi-res mesh based on the predicted centroids and lo-res normals using a normal vector prediction model. Residuals are computed for the respective predicted geometry data. The encoder transmits encodings of the lo-res mesh and the residuals for decoding at a client device.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for only including portions of a user's environment that have been approved by a user in a video conference while excluding portions that have not been approved. This may be accomplished by a device receiving a policy identifying one or more approved objects of a scene of a video stream. The device may then generate a filtered video stream by only including portions of the scene that comprise the one or more objects that were approved by the policy in the filtered video stream. The filtered video stream may be combined with other video streams to generate a video conference that is transmitted and/or stored by one or more devices participating in the video conference.

    Abstract: Methods and systems are described for distributed extended reality (XR) computing optimization for an edge node connectable to a client device and an XR content server across a network. XR computing is apportioned to the edge node and the client device so that a wide variety of client devices, from light to heavy, are accommodated based on metrics of the edge node, the client device, the XR content server, and the network. Some of the apportionments include extraction of feature descriptors by the client device to avoid transmitting full image data from the client device to the edge node. The feature descriptors are used for tracking initialization and frame to frame tracking. Overall system performance is improved delivering an improved user experience.     Abstract: An audible output of a vehicle is controlled based on a variety of driving characteristics and ambient conditions. In response to receiving an indication of a triggering of an activator of a horn of a vehicle, the system determines a driving characteristic of the vehicle based on vehicle sensor data. Then, based on the driving characteristic(s) determined, and/or based on the ambient conditions, an audible output tune is automatically set for output by the vehicle. A tune and volume of the audible output selected when the driving conditions and ambient conditions indicate an emergency situation will be different from the tune and volume selected for a non-threatening situation. Also, an audible output tune may be selected to be output at a later time when the vehicle reaches a destination to signal a person at the destination that the vehicle has arrived.

    Abstract: The system trains a machine learning model using a loss function, with a part that penalizes overall signal loss, and a second part of the loss function that penalizes texture loss. The system computes a first neural feature of a first media frame stored by a media server using the trained machine learning model. The system causes a client device to receive a second media frame as a part of a media stream from the media server where the second frame is a modified version of the first media frame. The system causes the client to compute a second neural feature of the second media frame using the trained machine learning model, and compute a QoE metric based on the first neural feature and the second neural feature. The system receives the QoE metric, and uses it to modify at least one parameter of the media stream.
