Abstract: An RF signal generator wirelessly transferring power to a wireless device includes, in part, a multitude of generating elements generating a multitude of RF signals transmitted by a multitude of antennas, a wireless signal receiver, and a control unit controlling the phases and/or amplitudes of the RF signals in accordance with a signal received by the receiver. The signal received by the receiver includes, in part, information representative of the amount of RF power the first wireless device receives. The RF signal generator further includes, in part, a detector detecting an RF signal caused by scattering or reflection of the RF signal transmitted by the antennas. The control unit further controls the phase and/or amplitude of the RF signals in accordance with the signal detected by the detector.

Abstract: A device includes, in part, an antenna adapted to receive an RF signal that includes modulated data, a splitter/coupler adapted to split the received RF signal, a receiver adapted to demodulate the data from a first portion of the RF signal, and a power recovery unit adapted to convert to a DC power a second portion of the RF signal. The splitter/coupler is optionally adjustable to split the RF signal in accordance with a value that may be representative of a number of factors, such as the target data rate, the DC power requirement of the device, and the like. The device optionally includes a switch and/or a power combiner adapted to deliver all the received RF power to the receiver depending on any number of operation conditions of the device or the device's distance from an RF transmitting device.

Abstract: A coherent imaging system including a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter includes a coherent source and a power splitter for splitting the electromagnetic radiation into a reference and a signal beam. The receiver includes an image forming device and an array of pixels. Each of the pixels include means for collecting at least a portion of the signal beam imaged on the pixel by an image forming device, as a collected signal; means for splitting the collected signal into a plurality of collected signals each having different phase shifts; means for mixing each of the collected signals with the reference beam so as to form a plurality of mixed signals; and means for detecting the mixed signals and outputting a plurality of output electrical signals in response to the mixed signals.

Abstract: A phased array includes, in part, M×N photonic chips each of which includes, in part, an array of transmitters and an array of receivers. At least one of M and/or N is an integer greater than one. The transmitter arrays in each pair of adjacent photonics chips are spaced apart by a first distance and the receiver arrays in each pair of adjacent photonics chips are spaced apart by a second distance. The first and second distances are co-prime numbers. Optionally, at least a second subset of the M×N photonic chips is formed by rotating a first subset of the M×N photonic chips.

Abstract: A phased-array includes, in part, N transceivers each including a receiver and a transmitter, and a controller. The phased array is configured to transmit a first radio signal from a first element of the array during a first time period, receive the first radio signal from a second element of the array, recover a first value associated with the radio signal received by the second element, transmit a second radio signal from the second element of the array during a second time period, receive the second radio signal from the first element of the array, recover a second value associated with the radio signal received by the first element, and determine a first phase of a reference signal received by the second element from the recovered first and second values. The first phase is relative to a second phase of the reference signal received by the first element.

Abstract: A method of determining the phases of a multitude of transmitting elements of an RF power generating unit, includes, in part, activating one of transmitting element during the first time period, turning off the remaining transmitting elements during the first time period, transmitting an RF signal from the activated transmitting element to a device to be charged during the first time period, detecting a first phase value associated with the RF signal at the device during the first time period, transmitting the detected first phase value from the device to the generating unit during the first time period, and adjusting the phase of the activated transmitting element in response to the detected first phase value.

Abstract: A radiator is formed by forming a multitude of slot antennas adjacent one another such that the spacing between each pair of adjacent slot antennas is smaller than the wavelength of the signal being transmitted or received by the radiator. The radiator achieves high efficiency by reducing the excitation of substrate modes, and further achieves high output power radiation by combining power of multiple CMOS power amplifiers integrated in the radiator structure. Impedance matching to low-voltage CMOS power amplifiers is achieved through lowering the impedance at the radiator ports. Each output power stage may be implemented as a combination of several smaller output power stages operating in parallel, thereby allowing the combination to utilize an effective output device size commensurate with the impedance of the radiator.

Abstract: An integrated optical modulator includes, in part, a pair of waveguides and an inductor. The first waveguide is adapted to receive an incoming optical signal.
