Abstract:
An antenna module incorporates a microstrip patch antenna and a mast antenna in an at least substantially concentric arrangement for communicating signals in multiple communication bands. The output signals from the microstrip patch antenna and the mast antenna are output via a single RF cable. The antenna module can be used to communicate signals in multiple communication bands, including both satellite and terrestrial communications. The antenna module conserves space, while avoiding unacceptable distortion of radiation patterns for satellite services. In addition, the mast antenna can be implemented using a thinner, more flexible construction than certain conventional solutions. Further, providing the outputs from the antennas via a single RF cable may facilitate collocating tuners for multiple communication services, resulting in considerable size and cost savings by using a single set of RF cables and connectors.

A process for printing a substrate comprising applying thereto an ink by means of an ink jet printer, wherein the ink comprises a latex binder, a liquid medium comprising water and organic solvent, and polymer-encapsulated pigment particles comprising a carboxy-functional dispersant crosslinked around a pigment core by a crosslinking agent, wherein the ink has a minimum film-forming temperature below 70° C. Inks are also claimed. The process and inks are useful for printing temperature-sensitive substrates, e.g. foil balloons and wrapping materials for special occasions.
Abstract:
In one embodiment a method for receiving a request from a user to update a pointer record of a domain name system (DNS) in a DNS service includes issuing a query from the DNS service to a resource of a first service of the data center from the DNS service using a uniform resource indicator (URI) of the request corresponding to the resource, receiving a list of Internet protocol (IP) addresses in the DNS service from the first service, determining whether an IP address received in the request corresponds to one of the IP addresses of the list, and if so, enabling the user to update the pointer record.

A method of providing access for a multi-mode mobile terminal (13) to packet-switched services in a heterogeneous network environment (10) comprising a uni-directional network (12) and a bi-directional network (11), which method comprises the step of creating and storing a data structure in each of said multi-mode mobile terminal (13), said bi-directional network (11) and said uni-directional network (12), storing of said data structures activating a logical association between said multi-mode mobile terminal (13) and said uni-directional network (11) via said bi-directional network (12), which logical association facilitates inter-working of said uni-directional and bi-directional networks for delivering datagrams to said multi-mode mobile terminal (13) from said uni-directional network (12).
Abstract:
Provided is a system and method for persisting data from an instant messaging session. The method includes opening an instant messaging client, connecting with a server hosting an instant messaging service, logging into the server, identifying an instant messaging session as persistent, upon exiting, receiving a message asking whether persistent data should be downloaded to the client; and receiving the persistent data from the instant messaging session. Another embodiment is directed to a computer system including a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, and an instant messaging client configured to run via the processor and memory, the instant messaging client configured to identify predetermined instant messaging sessions as persistent and store the instant messaging session in the memory.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of a biological interface system and related methods are disclosed. The system may comprise a sensor comprising a plurality of electrodes for detecting multicellular signals emanating from one or more living cells of a patient and a processing unit configured to receive the multicellular signals from the sensor and process the multicellular signals to produce a processed signal. The processing unit may be configured to transmit the processed signal to a controlled device that is configured to receive the processed signal. The system is configured to perform an integrated patient training routine to provide a time varying stimulus to the patient and to generate one or more system configuration parameters used by the processing unit to produce the processed signal.
