Abstract:
The invention is a contour standard, which consists of a body having a rotationally symmetrical calibration region. The rotationally symmetrical calibration region encompasses a plurality of non-cylindrical axial sections, which can be concave, convex, by forming a predefined angle as radial projection or as radial depression. The calibration region has at least one measuring section, which runs parallel to the longitudinal axis of the body and which provides for axial calibration variables, as well as radial calibration variables. These calibration variables are compared with the sensed values to the calibration of a measuring instrument and the measuring instrument is adjusted based on the basis of the determined deviation. Due to the rotationally symmetrical calibration region, the contour standard is suitable both for the calibration of touch contour measuring instruments and also for the calibration of contour measuring instruments, which measure optically.
Abstract:
An epichlorohydrinamine polymer has a ratio of amine units to epichlorohydrin units of from 0.8:1.2 to 1.0:1.0, dimethylaminopropylamine and benzylamine preferably being used as amine and/or ammonium units. The novel epichlorohydrinamine polymer is used, for example, for the surface treatment of semifinished leather products and textile materials.

A process for the treatment of leather comprises the following process steps: (a) Application of at least one cationic or amphoteric aqueous treatment composition to leather by roll coating and/or roll application and/or spray application, and subsequently (b) treatment of the leather with an anionic leather treatment composition in a drum.
Abstract:
A method for producing a powder by pulverizing a stream of molten metal using a pulverization gas, which directly hits the molten metal stream, whereby a) a reactive gas is used as the pulverization gas such that a compound is formed by the reaction of the pulverization gas with the metal or an alloy component thereof and b) the temperature of the pulverization gas and the cooling speed are set such that the metal or the alloy component thereof is converted into the compound, to a substantial degree completely, in one step.

Abstract:
Water-soluble or water-dispersible graft polymers which are obtainable by free-radical-initiated polymerization of (A) a monomer or monomer mixture comprising (a) from 20 to 100% by weight of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid or a mixture thereof or alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium salts thereof, (b) from 0 to 80% by weight of other monoethylenically unsaturated monomers which can be copolymerized with the monomers (a), and (c) from 0 to 5% by weight of monomers containing at least 2 ethylenically unsaturated, non-conjugated double bonds in the molecule, in the presence of proteins (B) in an A:B weight ratio of from (95 to 10):(5 to 90), are used as tanning agents for self-tanning, pretanning and assist tanning of pelts and skin pelts and for the retanning of leather and skin.
Abstract:
Alkyl glycosides are prepared by reacting alcohols with monosaccharides or compounds which, under the reaction conditions, form monosaccharides, in the presence of amphoteric surfactants in the acid form as catalysts, and subsequently neutralizing the reaction mixture with bases.

Abstract:
In order to avoid unambiguous logic switching statuses in a data and control path upon transfer from one clock system of an outputting data processing system into an independent, asynchronous clock system of an accepting data processing system, and wherein a continuous data flow is to be guaranteed at the output of a buffer memory, a control signal indicating the presence of an intermediately stored data word is synchronized into a forwarding timing pattern of the accepting system via a synchronization circuit for forwarding data words from the buffer memory. A forwarding sync control signal is generated by the synchronization circuit. For controlling the in-flow into the buffer memory, a control signal dependent on the forwarding timing pattern of the accepting system is synchronized into the timing pattern of the outputting system over a further synchronization circuit. A request sync control signal is generated which respectively leads to the transfer of a data word together with a strobe signal to the buffer memory which undertakes the intermediate storage on the basis of the strobe signal. In order to guarantee a continuous data flow at the output of the buffer memory, the buffer memory has at least three, and preferably four memory sections.
Abstract:
A production line wherein extremely heavy and bulky commodities, such as metallic bands which are convoluted on reels and weigh up to and in excess of 20,000 lbs., are treated at several stations is provided with a first magazine at the receiving end, a second magazine at the discharge end and an intermediate magazine between two neighboring departments. The commodities are transported in the magazines by vehicles which are movable lengthwise as well as up and down to store the commodities at different levels or to withdraw commodities from selected compartments of the respective magazines. Additional vehicles in the form of cars, lifters, cranes or the like are provided to transport commodities from a preceding magazine, to stations which are adjacent to various machines of the production line, and from such machines to the next magazine, always at a level above or below the level of the production line. The production line may be set up to anneal the commodities which are withdrawn from the first magazine prior to introduction into the first magazine, to thereupon roll the commodities in one or more passes, to trim the commodities, to subdivide the commodities, and to heat the commodities prior to storage in the second magazine from which the commodities are withdrawn for transport to inspecting, packing and/or other stations.
