Abstract:
The present invention provides a wire saw which cuts a workpiece using a cutting wire and is capable of adjusting wire tension with high responsiveness. The wire saw includes first and second workpiece cutting units 1A and 1B. Each of the workpiece cutting units 1A and 1B includes a pair of guide rollers 10a and 10b around which a wire W is wound to form a workpiece-cutting wire group. The wire saw further includes a tension detector 18 which detects tension in the wire W between the workpiece cutting units 1A and 1B, and a control device 50. The control device 50 changes a rotational speed of the guide rollers 10a and 10b of at least one of the workpiece cutting units based on the tension detected by the tension detector 18 so as to keep the tension within an acceptable range.
Abstract:
A master disk has an aspect ratio of a width of a groove to a depth thereof to facilitate embedding of a soft magnetic film in the groove for stabilizing magnetic printability. The master disk has at least two differently shaped grooves, in each of which the width of the groove is equal to the width in the sector direction of a servo pattern and the depth is varied. A servo pattern has a width equal to a width of the groove in the sector direction, with the depth of the groove being proportional to the servo pattern width. At least two depths of grooves are provided for embedding magnetic materials on a substrate of the master disk. The depth of the groove for embedding the soft magnetic film is made shallow in a region where the pattern width of the servo pattern is narrow and made deep in a region where the pattern width is wide.
Abstract:
Magnetic transfer can be performed with high reliability by shortening the magnetic transit interval of servo address information, that is, a section in which “0” or “1” continues. An area for registering information indicating a start position of data inversion or non-inversion of the servo address information is formed between a servo detection pattern and servo address information of the servo signal. When a continuing data section exceeds a predetermined section in a data sequence of the servo address information, the data at the subsequent portion to the exceeding position are inverted or non-inverted, and the exceeding position is registered as a start position for inversion or non-inversion in the area.

Abstract:
A phase difference measuring apparatus for precisely measuring a phase difference between two input signals having the same frequency sent from, for example, a Coriolis type mass flowmeter. A differential amplifier in the apparatus provides the sum or difference of the two input signals and a multiplexor sequentially selects and outputs to an A/D converter the two input signals and the output of the differential amplifier. The A/D converter converts the output of the multiplexor into digital data and a digital signal processor or a microcomputer calculates the phase difference between the two input signals based on the converted digital data. The apparatus may further comprise a function that an error caused by the difference of the transfer characteristics of a filter and the A/D converter is compensated using a reference signal which is selected from the two input signals.
Abstract:
A phase difference measuring apparatus for accurately measuring the phase difference (fine time difference) of two signals with the same frequency with a reduced number of bits for A/D conversion is disclosed. In addition to output signals of an upstream side pickup and a downstream side pickup of a mass flowmeter, an output signal of the upstream side pickup or the downstream side pickup is supplied to a comparator, a PLL circuit, an antialiase filter, a sample and hold circuit, and an A/D converter. These circuits quantize these signals and send the quantized signals to a band pass filter. The band pass filter extracts a predetermined signal component and outputs it to a DFT. The DFT performs complex Fourier transformation on the input signal. Thus, the phase difference between two signals with the same frequency (such as an upstream side pickup signal and a downstream side pickup signal) can be accurately detected with a reduced number of bits for each of the A/D converters.
