    Abstract: Various embodiments described herein include systems and methods directed towards allowing a wearable device with one or more sensors to communicate with a third-party network or device. The wearable device's software may include user interfaces wherein a user may select a data set from a particular sensor and allocate a security level associated with that sensor's data and with a particular third-party network. Different security levels may be correlated to different protections, such as encryption or password-protection of data, or ensuring that an agreement has been signed, or ensuring that the third party is identified in a database before transmission. Before sending any sensor data or receiving any third party data, the wearable device may check this user-allocated security level, executes any required security precautions, and allows or denies the data transfer accordingly. Security levels may also govern receipt of data by the wearable device from the third party.

    Abstract: In various embodiments, a caregiver module is provided for use with a patient medical device, including a sensor to obtain a sensor signal related to the use of the patient medical device; an analog-to-digital converter to convert the sensor signal to corresponding sensor data; and a controller to transmit the sensor data to a wearable device, wherein the sensor data is transmitted in the same form as created by the converter. Various embodiments provide a wearable device for processing sensor data received from the caregiver module, including: memory storing processing instructions for interpreting sensor data of multiple types; and a processor to: receive configuration information associated with the caregiver module, receive sensor data of a first type from the caregiver module, and execute the processing instructions based on the configuration information, wherein the configuration information alters the operation of the processing instructions to interpret sensor data of the first type.

According to various embodiments, a wearable device, associated mobile device, or other user device may receive health parameters of the user obtained by at least one sensor configured to sense one or more health parameters from the user; receive an identification of a medical alert to be provided to third parties with respect to the user, persist the identification of the medical alert in a memory of the user device, and repeatedly transmit at least one of the identification of the medical alert and an indication of the availability of the medical alert via a communications interface of the user device configured to communicate wirelessly with nearby reader devices.

    Abstract: Various embodiments relate to a first-aid kit including at least one first aid item; and a wearable device configured to be worn by a user and including: a communications interface for communicating with a mobile device of the user; a sensor for obtaining vitals data when the wearable device is worn by the user; a processor configured to transmit vitals data to a mobile phone of the user via the communications interface wherein the first aid kit includes a means for causing instructions for processing the vitals data to be loaded onto the mobile device. In some such embodiments, the means for causing instructions to be loaded includes: a memory storing contents including at least one of: the instructions for processing the vitals, and a resource identifier that points to the instructions for processing the vitals at an application download server, wherein the contents are transmitted to the mobile device.
