Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may support carrier aggregation for a sidelink control connection, such as a PC5 or radio resource control (RRC) connection with another UE. The sidelink control connection may support at least two sidelink control carriers, such as an anchor sidelink carrier, a secondary or selected sidelink carrier, a secondary anchor sidelink carrier that may be configured for fallback or duplication, among others. The sidelink control connection may be monitored for radio link failure and a secondary sidelink carrier may be used. Other sidelink carriers may be configured for the sidelink control connection as channel conditions change.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may perform a channel access procedure associated with a transmission of a sidelink communication that is to be associated with resources that are associated with a first configured grant configuration, wherein the channel access procedure is unsuccessful, wherein the sidelink communication is associated with a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier, and wherein a state associated with the HARQ process identifier is changed to pending based on the channel access procedure being unsuccessful. The UE may transmit, based on successfully performing another channel access procedure, a retransmission of the sidelink communication using resources associated with the first configured grant configuration or a second configured grant configuration based on the state associated with the HARQ process identifier being changed to pending. The cross-carrier feedback may include a set of acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) bits and an indication of an association between each ACK/NACK bit and a corresponding one of the first component carrier, the second component carrier, the first transmission block, or the second transmission block. Abstract: Embodiments include methods performed by a processor of a wireless device for discontinuous reception. The processor may monitor for sidelink control signaling from a base station using a radio of the wireless device during a sidelink control signaling monitoring duration. The processor may receive sidelink control signaling that allocates a sidelink communication resource and schedules a sidelink communication. The processor may perform the scheduled sidelink communication based on the received sidelink control signaling. The processor may place the radio of the wireless device into a low power mode outside of the sidelink control signaling monitoring duration when no sidelink communication is scheduled.
