Abstract:
A license install support method includes receiving input of a first license identifier used for receiving license data, the license data being used by an electronic device for determining whether activation of a program is allowable; sending, to a license source determining device connected via a network, an acquisition request specifying the first license identifier for acquiring issuing source information including issuing source identification information of the license data; receiving the issuing source information returned from the license source determining device; and using a license install processing unit to acquire the license data corresponding to the first license identifier from a license management device relevant to the issuing source information included among plural license management devices connected via the network, and to send the license data to the electronic device.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus includes a storage unit that stores reboot necessity information for respective versions of programs that are install targets of an electronic device, the reboot necessity information indicating whether the electronic device needs to be rebooted when a first program of a first version installed in the electronic device is updated to a second program of a second version; an extracting unit that extracts difference information indicating a difference between the first program and the second program in response to a request to acquire the second program, the request specifying the first version of the first program; a determining unit that determines whether the electronic device needs to be rebooted when the second program is installed, based on the difference between the first version and the second version indicated in the difference information and the reboot necessity information; and a responding unit that returns a determination result.
Abstract:
An astigmatism-correcting coupler includes a collimating lens for collimating a beam of coherent light output from a laser, a power adjusting lens for reducing any astigmatism of the collimated beam of coherent light output, and a focusing lens for focusing the collimated beam of coherent light output into an optical fiber. The focusing lens is a graded-index (GRIN) focusing lens that is cylindrically polished to have different focal powers in lateral and transverse planes. The cylindrical polished GRIN focusing lens corrects for astigmatic effects by adjusting the power of the light output on the transverse and lateral planes.
Abstract:
In a device and method, the optical path length through an optical element is adjustable with high precision. The optical element has a first segment formed from a first optical material, the first segment having a first face at a first end and a second face at a second end opposing the first face, the second face being non-parallel with the first. The first and second faces are disposed on a beam path. The element also includes a second segment formed from a second optical material, having a third face at a third end and a fourth face at a fourth end opposing the third face, the third face being non-parallel with the fourth face. At least one of the first and second segments is translatable across the beam path so as to change an optical path length through the optical element.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for performing corneal refractive surgery by ablating a portion of a corneal surface of an eye. The apparatus includes a pulsed laser for producing a pulsed output beam of light. A scanning mechanism scans the output beam, and the output beam is operatively associated with the scanning mechanism such that the output beam may be scanned over a predetermined surface defined by a mathematically derived ablation layer boundary curve for each ablation layer. A controller is operatively associated with the scanning mechanism so as to deliver output beams to the predetermined surface such that center points of output beams may be disposed within the ablation layer boundary curve, on the ablation layer boundary curve, and outside but within a predetermined distance from a nearest point on the ablation layer boundary curve so as to integrate the edges of the ablation layer boundary curve to more closely correspond to the desired ablated shape.
Abstract:
An output apparatus, an information processing system, an output method, and a non-transitory recording medium. The output apparatus receives setting information related to use of the output apparatus from a user terminal of a user and controls based on the setting information, whether to output electronic data received from a service providing system, or to receive list information indicating a list of electronic data from the service providing system and output the electronic data selected from the list information by the user.
Abstract:
An output system, a system, and an output method. The output system communicates with an output apparatus and an information processing apparatus, and transmits, in response to a request from the output apparatus for electronic data including source identification information received from the information processing apparatus, electronic data associated with a user identified based on the source identification information to the output apparatus.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a device for real-time monitoring and correcting the displacement of indoor microform model measuring equipment, comprising a measuring equipment, a sensing device, and a adjusting device that are installed on a truss; the outside of the truss is provided with a horizontal and a vertical base point; the sensing device and the adjusting device both take the horizontal and vertical base points as benchmarks, and are both connected to a controller; the adjusting device is connected to the measuring equipment, which can drive the measuring equipment to fine-tune on the truss. The invention further discloses a real-time monitoring and correcting method using the device. The invention is simple in structure, convenient to use, and easy to install. Since an automatic adjusting device is used, the adjustment value can be accurate to 0.01 mm, making the data obtained from the indoor model observation test more accurate and reliable.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a first device having first circuitry and a printer and/or a scanner, and a second device to operate the first device, the second device including second circuitry to install, on a memory of the second device, one or more applications for executing image processing using the printer or the scanner. When determining that a current time is equal to an update time set within an update time range defined by a user, the second circuitry acquires, from a server via the first device and a network, update target application information indicating a target application among the one or more applications installed in the second device, requests, to the server via the first device, downloading of the target application, acquires the target application from the server via the first device, and installs the acquired target application in the second device.
