Abstract: The present invention relates to control of a wind turbine to reduce structural loading due to vibrations of the blades along the edgewise direction. A rotor control system for actuating pitch of pitch-adjustable rotor blades of a wind turbine is disclosed. Pitch modification signals are determined based on edgewise load signals for each of the rotor blades. The edgewise load signal are coordinated transformed and input into a primary whirling controller unit to provide whirling signal components which can be used for determining the pitch modification signals.

Abstract: A method of replacing a component (28b) of an offshore wind turbine (10) includes providing a sea vessel (30) having a transport system (50)) with a base (52), an elongate platform (54) connected to the base (52), and a transport frame (56a, 56b) for receiving a component (28b) of the wind turbine (10). The sea vessel (30) is positioned such that its deck (40) is separated from the wind turbine (10) by more than a maximum working distance (72) of a crane (26) onboard the wind turbine (10), and further positioned such that in an extended position, the transport frame (56a, 56b) is within the maximum working distance (72) of the crane (26), and in a retracted position, the transport frame (56a, 56b) is outside of the maximum working distance (72). The method includes arranging the transport frame (56a, 56b) in the extended position, lowering a component (28b) of the wind turbine (10) using the crane (26), and placing the component (28b) on the transport frame (56a, 56b). A transport system (50) for handling wind turbine components (28a, 28b) is also disclosed.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for providing power ramp rate control of a hybrid power plant with a plurality of energy assets including wind turbine generators and possibly solar power units, and an energy storage unit. Abstract: Controlling the position of a tool mounted on a robotic arm comprising projecting an image onto the workpiece from a projector and detected using a camera. The camera and projector are mounted on the tool or robotic arm. The image is used to determine a relative position of the tool with respect to a workpiece and the relative position is provided as an input to a controller which is configured to compare the relative position to a predetermined value. If the relative position is not equal to the predetermined value, a control signal is issued to a position controller to move the tool to a new position in which the relative position of the tool is closer to the predetermined value. Or, if the relative position is equal to the predetermined value, a control signal is issued to the position controller to maintain the tool in its current position.

Abstract: An insert (105) for a wind turbine blade root. The insert (105) has a bushing (40) and an outer surface with circumferential annular grooves (68). A transition layer (102) is built up around the bushing (40). The transition layer (102) has fibrous material sheet layers and filamentary material windings (80) in the grooves which alternate with fibrous plies (98) covering the grooves (68). Each fibrous ply (98) is anchored into the grooves (68) by the windings (80). Fibrous battens (148) are fitted around the transition layer (102) to form an insert body (108). Each batten (148) has a deltoid cross-section so that the battens give the insert a quadrilateral or trapezoidal cross-section.
