Abstract: There is provided a polyarylene sulfide dispersion coated with a cationic group-containing organic polymer compound and having high dispersion stability and excellent adhesion or adhesiveness to any one of substrates of plastic, metals, glass, and the like even at a high polyarylene sulfide resin concentration. The object is solved by providing a polyarylene sulfide dispersion including polyarylene sulfide particles, which are coated with a cationic group-containing organic polymer compound by a base precipitation method and thus exhibit high stability even at a high concentration, and also providing powder particles (fine particles) produced from the dispersion.

Abstract: A method of making a bijel includes dispersing surface-active nanoparticles in a ternary liquid mixture. The ternary liquid mixture includes a hydrophilic liquid, a hydrophobic liquid, and a solvent. The ternary liquid mixture is contacted with water. A bijel includes a stable mixture of two immiscible liquids separated by an interfacial layer of colloidal particles. The bijel has temperature-independent stability, and the domain sizes are below one micrometer.

Abstract: The invention relates to copolymer dispersions, comprising: a copolymer of (a) a vinyl ester of an alkanoic acid having from 1 to 13 carbon atoms; (b) ethylene; (c) from 0.5 to 5 pphm of a first cross-linking co-monomer comprising an ethylenically unsaturated monomer comprising an epoxy group; and (d) from 0.55 to 2 pphm of a second functional co-monomer comprising an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, mono- or di-ester thereof or anhydride thereof wherein the copolymer is dispersed in an aqueous medium comprising a stabilizer. The dispersions advantageously provide surprisingly good adhesion characteristics to paper substrates.
