Abstract: The present invention relates to a door jamb finger guard. The finger guard comprises a door lock for preventing closure of the door, a housing for the door lock and an activating means. The activating means is activateable by a door closing obstacle for automatically moving the door lock between an inactive position and an active position. In the inactive position, the door lock is recessed within the housing, while in the active position, the door lock projects from the housing to prevent closure of the door.

Abstract: The present invention provides a door opening assist device comprising a compression spring and piston retainably housed in a bind ended longitudinal bore formed in an externally threaded cylindrical housing. The spring and piston are held in cooperative engagement between a retaining nut and the blind end. The piston has a single protuberance extending normally from it's surface that resides in and travels about a spiral groove formed in the housing. The spiral groove has a series of detents, one of which can be selected to trap the protuberance and stop the spinning piston as it travels along the housing bore.The door opening assist device is installed in a door frame of an automobile to push the door open a distance determined by the detent selected. Upon closing the door, the door abuts and retracts the piston into the housing compressing the spring. Upon unlatching the door, the piston extends under spring bias in such a direction and with sufficient force to push the door to an open position a predetermined distance. The door opening assist device provides various mounting options through the use of a jam nut and a mounting plate.

Abstract: An operator cab for heavy equipment is disclosed to prevent a sliding door mounted on the cab from rocking or rattling in X, Y, and Z-axis directions due to a shock or vibration applied to the cab in a state that the sliding door is fully opened. The operator cab includes an outer sidewall having a doorway formed thereon; upper and lower rails provided on upper and lower portions of the outer sidewall and engaged with upper and lower rollers; a sliding door being slid by upper and lower rollers engaged with the upper and lower rails; an upper pad formed on an upper bracket; a lower pad formed on a lower bracket; an upper stopper, installed in the opened position of the outer sidewall, for being in surface contact with the upper pad when the sliding door is fully opened, and preventing the sliding door from rocking when the upper stopper becomes in surface contact with the upper pad; and a lower stopper, installed in the opened position of the outer sidewall, for being in surface contact with the lower pad when the sliding door is fully opened, and preventing the sliding door from rocking when the lower stopper becomes in surface contact with the lower pad.

Abstract: An end stop damper including a stop element, guided in an elongate damper body with an opened and a closed end as well as a receiving chamber, for receiving a sliding piece, joined to the stop element. The end of the sliding piece, which extends into the receiving chamber, forms a cavity with the inner contour of the receiving chamber. The cavity has at least one opening, for reducing the air pressure. The opening cooperates with a damping element which creates a flow resistance for the air, escaping through the opening.

Abstract: A noise control device for a steel door includes a buffer, a shock-absorbing member, a stopping member, or only includes a colliding member. The noise control device is installed at any location of a steel door and a casting where noise may be generated when the steel door is closed or opened. The buffer consists of a cylinder, a lower sponge, a coil spring, a rod, and an upper sponge and possibly a colliding member. The buffer can be mainly installed on a deadbolt groove of the casing. The shock-absorbing member may be fixed on the steel door or the casing for reducing sound. The stopping member is fixed on the steel door to face the outer end of the buffer. The noise control device can reduce noise generated in opening and closing as much as possible and preventing the both from disfiguring or denting.

Abstract: A control mechanism for use with a door closer having a pinion shaft. The control mechanism comprises a coiled torsion spring around the shaft with a free end of the spring lying along part of a strap. The strap is connected to the shaft and normally held in tension, in use, by its connection to a movable hydraulic piston of the door closer which is biased in one direction. On normal closing of the door, in use, the strap remains tensioned and the spring is thus prevented from tightening on the shaft. However, if an external closing force is applied to the door, the strap becomes untensioned, thereby allowing the spring to tighten about the shaft to retard its angular door closing movement.
