Abstract:
Load fluctuation of a refrigerating cycle under severe conditions needs to be overcome. For instance, a compressor driver which can positively drive the compressor employed even in a vehicle is desirable. To be more specific, at the start of the compressor, a phase of the current flowing in the motor is controlled to be ahead of an induction voltage, then the advancement of the phase is controlled to decrease. Under an unstable condition to detect a position, such as at the start under pressure-difference, the foregoing control allows the phase to advance up to the current-phase where the max. torque can be produced, thereby drawing the instantaneous max. torque of the motor for starting the compressor. Then the control reduces the advancement for obtaining a stable operation. This control method can realize a compressor driver having start-performance enough to overcome pressure-difference.

The invention provides a variable speed hydraulic pump designed to operate at a maximum horsepower throughout its pressure range by adjusting motor speed according to motor load parameters. In particular, the variable speed hydraulic pump includes a hydraulic pump unit coupled to a variable speed electric motor by a drive unit and to a hydraulic fluid tank for pressurizing and pumping hydraulic fluid when operated by the motor. A motor controller is electrically connected to the motor to supply drive signals to the motor based on electrical characteristics of the drive signals which are dependent on the load exerted on the motor. Suction from the load is provided by both the main pump and a bidirectional supercharging pump by reversing the direction of the motor and shifting a 4/3 valve to connect the main pump inlet to the load and its outlet to tank. In addition, the controller reduces the motor speed at the maximum rated pressure to just maintain the pressure, to reduce the amount of fluid pumped through the maximum pressure relief valve.

A pump assembly that has a control circuit and a pressure switch which control the operation of a pump motor. The motor drives a positive displacement pump that is coupled to a fluid system. The control circuit includes a pulse width modulator circuit. The control circuit is activated when a pressure switch senses that a line pressure of the fluid system is below a threshold value. The control circuit can either operate in a continuous mode to provide a constant signal to the motor, or a pulse regulating mode to provide a series of pulses to the motor. The pulses begin with a minimum width and gradually increase until a predetermined current limit has been attained, or the motor reaches a full speed with the control circuit in a continuous on state. The speed of the motor will then correspond to the flow demanded by the fluid system. The energy provided by the pulses is varied as a function of changes in peak current drawn by the motor. The peak current is sensed and used to determine the pulse width. Changing the pulse energy varies the speed of the motor.

Abstract:
An apparatus for detecting shaking of stroke of a linear compressor and a method are provided. A linear compressor mis-operates due to change in an external voltage or noise because the shaking of the stroke is detected by the amounts of change in the stroke or current. In order to solve the above problem, a control apparatus of a compressor includes a stroke/current phase difference calculator for calculating the phase differences of the stroke and current using the stroke and the current, which are determined by the increase and the reduction of the stroke due to the voltage generated by a linear compressor, a phase difference change amount calculator for calculating phase difference change amounts using the calculated phase differences of the stroke and the current, a shaking detector for comparing the calculated phase difference change amounts with a reference value for determining whether the shaking of the stroke is detected, to thus determine the shaking of the stroke, and a stroke controller for receiving a stroke shaking detection signal from the stroke shaking detector and changing the stroke voltage according to the magnitude of the request of cooling capacity, which is determined by the change in load, to thus control the driving of the linear compressor, during the operation of the linear compressor.
