Abstract: A display apparatus includes pixel areas and a light blocking area between the pixel areas. The display apparatus includes a first base substrate, a thin film transistor, and first, second, and third color filters. The first color filter has a first color, the second color filter has a second color different from the first color, and the third color filter has a third color different from the first and second colors. In the light blocking area, the thin film transistor, the first color filter, and the third color filter at least partially overlap each other. The second color filter in at least one pixel area is connected to an adjacent second color filter disposed in an adjacent pixel area by a bridge portion, and the bridge portion is formed of the same material as the second color filter and is disposed in the light blocking area.

The device includes: first, second, and third color pixel areas; a first substrate and a second substrate; a first color filter disposed in the first color pixel area on the first substrate or the second substrate; a second color filter disposed in the second color pixel area on the first substrate or the second substrate; a third color filter disposed in the third color pixel area on the first substrate or the second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the first color pixel area includes a first transparent region at which the first color filter is not disposed, and a ratio of the first transparent region of the first color pixel area to the first color pixel area is in a range of 1/1000 to 1/2, inclusive.

Abstract: Provided is a technique for controlling the hue of an image when the image is displayed on a display panel so that the image should not be displayed with a hue different from the actual hue. The display device includes a display panel that includes an active matrix substrate 11a and a counter substrate 11b, and a reflection unit 12. The active matrix substrate 11a includes gate lines and source lines 24, and includes a plurality of pixel areas that are defined by the gate lines and the source lines 24. The counter substrate 11b includes color filters 31R, 31G, 31B of R, G, B at positions corresponding to the pixel areas. The reflection unit 12 transmits light from the light source 14, and reflects light from the active matrix substrate 11a. The pixel areas of R, G, B have reflection areas that reflect light from the reflection unit 12 so that the respective amounts of light outgoing from the above-described pixel areas are approximately uniform.

Abstract: A display device includes a display surface with pixels including four sub-pixels of four colors, and being arrayed in a matrix of a first viewing angle direction and a second viewing angle direction orthogonal thereto. The first viewing angle direction in a direction parallel to the display surface of a main viewing angle direction that intersects with the display surface. A reflective member, first substrate, a second substrate facing the first substrate, a color filter with filters of four colors corresponding to the four sub-pixels, and a scattering member is provided on the second substrate. For the color filter, a change in transmittance of the filters per pixel in the main viewing angle direction is smaller than a change in transmittance of the filters per pixel in a direction orthogonal to the first viewing angle direction in the second viewing angle direction parallel to the display surface.

Abstract: The present invention provides a COA type liquid crystal display panel. In each pixel unit of the lower substrate, borders of the color resist layer in respective directions are all located at inner sides of the frame electrode and the common electrode line, then no color resist layer is arranged between the frame electrode and the common electrode line to reduce a vertical distance between the frame electrode and the common electrode line and provide a larger storage capacitor. Accordingly, the display quality of the COA type liquid crystal display panel is promoted.
