    Abstract: Provided is a tangible, non-transitory, machine readable medium storing instructions that when executed by one or more processors of a robotic device effectuate operations including capturing, with a camera of the robotic device, spatial data of surroundings of the robotic device; generating, with the one or more processors of the robotic device, a movement path based on the spatial data of the surroundings; capturing, with at least one sensor of the robotic device, at least one measurement relative to the surroundings of the robotic device; obtaining, with the one or more processors of the robotic device, the at least one measurement; and inferring, with the one or more processors of the robotic device, a location of the robotic device based on the at least one measurement.

    Abstract: A mobile robot of the present disclosure includes: a traveling unit configured to move a main body; a cleaning unit configured to perform a cleaning function; a sensing unit configured to sense a surrounding environment; an image acquiring unit configured to acquire an image outside the main body; and a controller configured to generate a distance map indicating distance information from an obstacle for a cleaning area based on information detected and the image through the sensing unit and the image acquiring unit, divide the cleaning area into a plurality of detailed areas according to the distance information of the distance map and control to perform cleaning independently for each of the detailed areas. Therefore, the area division is optimized for the mobile robot traveling in a straight line by dividing the area in a map showing a cleaning area.

    Abstract: An autonomous path treatment system and associated path treatment method uses a mobile path recording device having a locator, a processor and firmware to capture a sequence of coordinates and directions of travel of a path as the mobile device is moved along the path and generate a path program file. The system also has an autonomous path treatment robot having: a treatment mechanism for treating the path; a controller having a processor and memory storing firmware that when executed obeys steps of the path program file to control the motor and the treatment mechanism to treat the path; and a server configured to execute a path program to process the captured sequence of coordinates and directions into the path program file containing instructions for controlling the autonomous path treatment robot to treat the path based upon the coordinates.
