Abstract: A device, system and method for determining a position of a movable object on a two-dimensional surface obtains, via an image capture device attached to the movable object, at least one image of a portion of the two-dimensional surface. At one virtual marker is identified in at least one image, and a previously determined estimated position of the at least one virtual marker is retrieved. The previously determined estimated position determined from a combination of an image of at least one anchor point on the two-dimensional surface, the at least one anchor point defining a unique position on the two-dimensional surface, and odometry measurements based on at least two images of the two-dimensional surface. The position of the movable object on the two-dimensional surface is determined from the estimated position of the at least one virtual marker.

Abstract: Grasping remains a complex topic for simulation. Embodiments provide a method to automatically determine grasping cues for tools. An example embodiment scans a CAD model representing a real-world tool to generate a series of sections from the CAD model. In turn, properties of each section are extracted and one or more regions of the CAD model are identified based upon the extracted properties and a tool family to which the tool represented by the CAD model belongs. To continue, a respective classification for each of the one or more identified regions is identified and grasping cues for the CAD model are generated based upon the determined respective classification for each of the one or more regions.

Abstract: Systems and methods for real time feedback and for updating welding instructions for a welding robot in real time is described herein. The data of a workspace that includes a part to be welded can be received via at least one sensor. This data can be transformed into a point cloud data representing a three-dimensional surface of the part. A desired state indicative of a desired position of at least a portion of the welding robot with respect to the part can be identified. An estimated state indicative of an estimated position of at least the portion of the welding robot with respect to the part can be compared to the desired state. The welding instructions can be updated based on the comparison.
