A layout design of visible information to be printed with visible ink in a book is generated, the visible information including an article. A layout design of invisible information to be printed with invisible ink in a book is generated, the invisible information including a Universal Resource Locator (URL) of an address of a web server at which additional information is located, the URL being encoded in a code within the invisible information, the additional information being associated with the article.
Abstract:
An ultraviolet image pattern is created on a recording medium having florescence properties and being a first color by electronically creating a first electronic pattern ink, the first electronic pattern ink including a second color and including holes, the holes representing areas in the first electronic pattern ink wherein the second color is absent; electronically creating an electronic image region having a pattern; electronically painting, using the first electronic pattern ink, a background of the electronic image region and the pattern of the electronic image region; electronically painting a predetermined portion of the holes with a third color, the third color matching the first color of the recording medium; and rendering, using marking materials, the electronic image region on the recording medium such that the florescence properties of the recording medium are only visible through the holes not painted with the third color when viewing the recording medium using ultraviolet illumination.
Abstract:
A gloss effect image pattern is created on a recording medium by electronically creating a first electronic pattern ink, the first electronic pattern ink including a first color and including holes, the holes representing areas in the first electronic pattern ink wherein the first color is absent; electronically creating a second electronic pattern ink using the first color and including filled holes, the filled holes of the second electronic pattern ink representing areas in the second electronic pattern ink filled with a second color, the second color being different than the first color; electronically creating an electronic image region; electronically painting, using the first electronic pattern ink, a background of the electronic image region; electronically painting, using the second electronic pattern ink, a foreground of the electronic image region; and rendering, using marking materials, the electronic image region on the recording medium.
Abstract:
A double layer micro gloss image pattern is created on a recording medium by electronically creating a first electronic pattern ink, the first electronic pattern ink including a first color pair and a first pattern, the first color pair including a first high color and a first low color; electronically creating a second electronic pattern ink, the second electronic pattern ink including a second color pair and the first pattern, the second color pair including a second high color and a second low color, the second color pair being visibly different from the first color pair; electronically creating a first layer in an electronic image region by electronically painting the electronic image region using the first electronic pattern ink; electronically creating a second layer in the electronic image region by electronically painting, using the second electronic pattern ink, a second pattern; and rendering, using marking materials, the electronic image region on a recording medium such that the when the first pattern is visible, the second pattern is not visible and when the second pattern is visible, the first pattern is not visible.
Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus, when embedded information, which is information embedded into received image file, is to be printed, the embedded information is extracted from the image file, form data for preparing a form that includes an information-embedding area where extracted embedded information is to be arranged and an image-data area where the image data in the received image file is to be arranged is prepared, a combined image is generated by combining the extracted embedded information in the information-embedding area and the image data in the image-data area, and the combined image is printed.
Abstract:
A printed audio format includes a printed encoding of an audio signal, and a plurality of spaced-apart and parallel rails. The printed encoding of the audio signal is located between the plurality of rails and each rail comprises at least one marker. The printed encoding comprises a first portion and a second portion, each portion comprises a plurality of code frames, and each frame represents a time segment of an audio signal. The first portion encodes a first time period of the audio signal and the second portion encodes a second time period of the audio signal. The second portion is encoded in reverse order with respect to the first portion so that the joining part is on the same end of both portions.
Abstract:
A method and system for sharing photographic content, the method comprising capturing an image on a processing device. A photograph is generated, via the processing device, from the image. Metadata of a user is associated with the photograph and a scannable code corresponding to the metadata is generated. The method further comprises printing, via the processing device, the photograph including the scannable code and an identification of the user on a given social networking site.
Abstract:
Provided is an image determination device including a sheet detecting unit that detects a sheet on which a code image is printed, a first acquiring unit that acquires information on the code image and an absorption wavelength of the code image, a second acquiring unit that acquires a reading unit necessary for decoding a code portion of the code image, a third acquiring unit that acquires a document image of an electronic document, a dividing unit that divides the document image into plural blocks corresponding to the reading unit, a detecting unit that detects a block in which an image portion of the document image that uses a color having an absorption band at the absorption wavelength of the code image overlaps with the code portion of the code image as an undecodable block, and an output unit that outputs a warning indicating the generation of an undecodable area.
Abstract:
A communication device including a processor configured to, when executing processor-executable instructions stored in a storage unit, perform determining a first configurable range including setting values stored in the storage unit, acquiring, from an image processing apparatus via a communication unit, a second configurable range including setting values for image processing executable by the image processing apparatus, determining whether the first configurable range is equal to the second configurable range, when determining that the first configurable range is equal to the second configurable range, transmitting an image processing instruction to perform an image processing operation according to the setting values of the first configurable range stored in the storage unit, to the image processing apparatus via the communication unit, and when determining that the first configurable range is different from the second configurable range, restricting transmission of the image processing instruction to the image processing apparatus.
