Abstract:
A composting structure and process is described for a livestock operation. The structure handles manure and treats it over a continuous 25 to 30 day process to produce compost therefrom. The structure includes a elongate walled area into which manure is piled, aerated and mixed while it is moved toward an output end. The structure is sized to handle 25 to 30 days worth of manure from the livestock operation which it services. The aeration is provided by an in-floor system of tubes arranged in zones so that the amount of air injected in the various zones can be selected.
Abstract:
The invention provides for methods, devices, and systems for pyrolyzing biomass. A pyrolysis unit can be used for the pyrolysis of biomass to form gas, liquid, and solid products. The biomass materials can be selected such that an enhanced biochar is formed after pyrolysis. The biomass can be pyrolyzed under specified conditions such that a selected biochar core is formed. The pyrolysis process can form a stable biochar core that is inert and/or resistant to degradation. The biochar or biochar core can be functionalized to form a functionalized biochar or functionalized biochar core. Functionalization can include post-pyrolysis treatments such as supplementation with microbes or physical transformations including annealing and/or activation.
Abstract:
A composition provides increased. lithium and selenium content in vegetables and in their bio-technologically and/or technologically processed products. This composition comprises an aqueous solution of lithium compounds and selenium salts having a lithium content ranging from 0.0001 to 15.Og/l and selenium ranging from 0.0001 to 12.Og/l and at least an adjuvant selected among at least alkaline soap, chitosan hydrolysate, chitosan hydrolysate added with lecithin, and tannic acid and/or mixtures thereof where at least an adjuvant is assigned to increase the lithium and selenium ions absorption.
Abstract:
The presently disclosed subject matter relates to Managed Ecosystem Fermentation (MEF) which is a continuous microbial process utilizing a managed ecosystem approach employing dozens to thousands of species of microorganisms, occurring in a controlled artificial environment and consuming organic materials without benefit of sterilization. The process of utilizing this fermentation for the consumption of organic materials on a continuous basis is within the scope of this disclosed subject matter. The process of separating chemicals as industrial chemicals from this fermentation on a continuous basis is within the scope of this disclosed subject matter. The process of separating biomass useful as high protein animal feed or fertilizer from this fermentation on a continuous (or semi-continuous) basis is within the scope of this disclosed subject matter.
Abstract:
The invention relates to organic fertilizers that satisfy the standards in both the United States and the European Union to be labeled as organic. The organic fertilizer comprises oilseed extract and/or corn steep liquor in combination with whey and/or other protein supplements, which provide a natural, nitrate free, nitrogen to the fertilizer.

Abstract:
The subject invention provides methods for producing homogenous organic base fertilizer for plant nutritoin and soil fertility. Also provided by the subject invention are value added fertilizer products for plant nutrition and soil fertility and concentrated liquid formulations/nutrient supplements that provide the value added nutrients to fertilizer products. Methods according to the invention involve the application of concentrated liquid(s) and/or dry formulation(s) comprising a mixture of one or more plant nutrient(s), one or more additional organic compound(s), one or more penetrant(s), and one or more optional supplement(s) into one or more organic base material(s). These organic base materials include, and are not limited to, biosolids, activated sludge, municipal compost, animal manures (e.g., horse, cow, chicken, pig, and sheep), and composted organic byproducts.
Abstract:
Process for transforming the residues left after tanning without chroming and the products thereby obtained, based on the process of homogenizing (2) the raw material (1), which consists of the leftovers of the tanning industry, such as remnants of skin with hair, trimmings, suede, etc. A mineral acid (3) is added to the mixture, as are semi-metals and metals (4) with a valency of 0, phenol and phenolate (15). The mixture is put in a pressure vessel (5) and is filtered (6) to separate the liquid portion (7) and the solid part (9), which can be neutralized (10) or treated with micro organisms (13). This process is intended to be used in the leather and fur industry as well as in agriculture.
