Abstract: The invention concerns a method for determining the location of a railway vehicle comprising a first navigation module determining a regular resolution position of the railway vehicle with a first accuracy measurement and a second navigation module determining a high resolution position of the railway vehicle with a second accuracy measurement, using the received signals. The method comprises the steps of determining a first confidence area around the regular resolution position, based on the first accuracy measurement, of determining a second confidence area around the high precision position, based on the second accuracy measurement, and of assigning a weight of confidence to the knowing of the actual location of the railway vehicle, by analyzing the overlay of the first and the second confidence areas and the first and the second accuracy measurements.

Abstract: This method allows determining the operating point of a hydraulic machine in a considered operating range, such as turbine mode, and comprises steps that consist in a) determining two coordinates (N′11, T′11) of a first series of potential operating points of the hydraulic machine for the orientation affected to guide vanes of the machine, b) measuring the rotation speed of the machine, and c) determining the torque exerted by water flow on the machine. The method further includes steps consisting in d) calculating two coordinates (N11, T11) of a second series of potential operating points of the machine in function of the rotation speed (N) measured at step b) and the torque determined at step c), and e) deducing the two coordinates (N11_real, T11_real) of operating point that belongs both to the first and the second series in the said considered operating range of the machine.

Abstract: Controlling a level crossing of a railway track by providing a train having an onboard processor communicating with a wayside processor associated to a level crossing, said train having a forward end and a rear end; moving the train forward along the railway track lowering down gates of the level crossing when train is at a predetermined distance upon detection of the train approaching the level crossing; when the forward end passes over a first reference point defining the beginning of an island area of the level crossing, sending a first message from the onboard safety processor towards the wayside processor informing that the train is approaching the level crossing; maintaining down gates; when the rear end passes over a second reference point defining the end of the island area, sending a second message from the onboard safety processor to the wayside processor informing that the train has left the level crossing; and lifting the gates.
