Abstract: A luminaire mounting system can accommodate mounting a luminaire to different structures. The luminaire can comprise an adapter, which may be formed into or otherwise associated with a frame of the luminaire, for example. The adapter can provide a mechanical interface to different brackets that are configured for mounting to different structures. The adapter can connect to a first type of bracket that is configured for mounting to a vertically extending pole, to a second type of bracket that is configured for mounting to a horizontally extending pole, and to a third type of bracket that is configured for mounting to a wall or other flat surface.

Abstract: A lighting system can include a lightguide having an edge and two major surfaces. The lightguide can be mounted in a frame so that one of the major surfaces faces towards an area to be illuminated, while the other major surface faces away from the area. LEDs can couple light into the lightguide edge, with the coupled light emitting from both major surfaces. Light emitted from the major surface that faces away from the area to be illuminated can be reflected back into the lightguide by a reflective surface. The reflective surface can be separated from the lightguide by an air gap. The air gap can promote internal reflection at the major surface facing away from the area to be illuminated, thereby enhancing homogeneity and output of light towards the area to be illuminated. The frame can include integral wireways, reflector retention clips, and grounding circuitry.

Abstract: A remodel recessed luminaire includes a housing can that defines a first slope and a junction box that defines a second slope. Further, the housing can includes a channel to retain a thermoprotector therein, the channel being defined by an indentation formed in a top wall of the housing can. The junction box includes a top cover that is coupled to a main body of the junction box and the top wall of the housing can such that the top cover encloses a wire management cavity that is formed by the channel that is communication with a second cavity defined by the main body. Furthermore, the junction box includes a coupling feature to attach an electrical component to the junction box. The first slope and the second slope operate in unison to fit the remodel recessed luminaire through small ceiling apertures and/or ceiling apertures in thick ceilings.

Abstract: A stud mounting bracket for a junction box includes a mounting extension extending outward from a longitudinal end margin of a main body.
