    Abstract: A quick connector assembly and process for forming a coupling in a fluid line between a first and a second fluid tube comprises a receptacle body having a cavity extending through the receptacle body to the second fluid tube. A sealing section is located within the cavity and a socket portion extends from the sealing section. The socket portion includes wall bordering a socket opening in alignment with the cavity and includes a pair of latch openings extending through a portion of the wall into the socket opening. A sealing member having a receiver opening is installed in the sealing section with the receiver opening in alignment with the socket opening and the cavity to the second tube. A bracket installed on the wall includes a pair of spring latches, each spring latch extending through a respective one of the pair of latch openings into the socket opening. A first fluid tube having an insertion portion and a raised upset is placed through the socket opening into the receiver opening making a fluid connection to the second fluid tube and causing the upset to be captured by each spring latch. A verifier having fixing fingers and a pair of arms is installed through respective recesses in the wall into the socket opening. Upon the capture of the first fluid tube upset by the spring latches, a force applied to the verifier causes each verifier arm to travel along the upset to rest below a respective spring latch and the fixing fingers to also capture the upset. Verifier symbols located on a surface of each verifier arm are visible through each latch openings verifying that the first fluid tube has been coupled to the receptacle body.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to an in-line quick connector. A female connector body is arranged to receive a male connector body in an interior cavity. The male connector body includes a bifurcated tubular member that includes resilient latching arms co-operable to engage latching members located within the interior cavity of the female connector body. The male connector body and female connector body each further include a raised annular flange. Fixed key members located on the male connector body flange engage slots located on the female connector body flange.

    Abstract: A fluid connector assembly comprising a reversible connector body having female and male end portions. The male end portion having an outer diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the female end portion. The female end portion including an internal bore extending through the female end portion from an annular opening to an inner seat. The male end portion including an internal bore extending from an abutment face at a head end of the male end portion to an opening at the female end portion inner seat. A first tube having a concave flared end installed on the inner seat of the reversible connector body engages a spherical/convex flared end of a second tube installed on the abutting face of another reversible connector body when the male end portion of the another reversible connector body is installed in the female end portion of the reversible connector body.

    Abstract: A tread additive composition to be combined with a base composition for tire treads to achieve low rolling resistance includes an elastomeric component, a first additive component, and a second additive component. The elastomeric component includes a first silane-grafted polyolefine elastomer. The first additive component including a polymer carrier, a reinforcing filler, silane-terminated liquid polybutadienes, and one or more process activators. The second additive component including a butadiene rubber, a hydrocarbon resin, sulfur; and one or more accelerators. Advantageously, the tread additive composition can decrease rolling resistance and improve fuel economy when combined with a base tread composition as compared to treads formed from the base tread composition without the tread additive composition.

    Abstract: A belt assembly for an associated vehicle has a body that includes a substantially planar region dimensioned for abutting engagement with the vehicle. At least one seal lip extends outwardly from a first face of the body to engage an associated surface of a vehicle window. A first hook is provided on the body for receipt over a terminal tip of the vehicle structural assembly, and a second hook is dimensioned for at least partial receipt through an associated opening around the door window opening. The first hook is positioned over the terminal tip and then the second hook is rotated until the second hook elastically deforms outwardly and subsequently snap fits into an associated opening and the substantially planar region abuts along the associated structural assembly of the door to preclude movement of the belt assembly upwardly, cross-car, and fore-and-aft relative to the associated vehicle.

    Abstract: A connector and process for coupling a tube and the resulting assembly is disclosed. A receptacle includes pilot in a mounted position. The pilot is slidable from a mounting position to a final position while the pilot urges legs of a retention clip into a spread condition during a transition between the mounting position and the final position. In the final position, the pilot permits legs of the retention clip to retract to a relaxed condition and an indicator piece is visible.
