Abstract: A tip to be placed on a fluid-ejection device is filled with fluid. The fluid may be introduced into a substantially hollow body of the tip at a first end of the body. The body of the tip has a second end at which a fluid-ejection mechanism is disposed to eject the fluid as controlled by the fluid-ejection device. The fluid may be introduced into the substantially hollow body of the tip through of the fluid-ejection mechanism disposed at the second end of the body of the tip. The tip may further be identified and/or serviced, and the tip and/or the fluid-ejection device my further be validated.

Abstract: Endoprosthesis, such as a stent, includes at least one annular element defined by a first set of strut members interconnected to define apices proximate opposite sides of the annular element. The annular element further includes a foot extension extending between at least one pair of circumferentially-adjacent strut members. The foot extension has first and second foot portions extending circumferentially from corresponding ends of the circumferentially-adjacent strut members, and are contoured to provide at least two areas of flexure. The first and second foot portions are joined at a toe portion of the foot extension, and define a circumferentially-directed apex between the pair of circumferentially-adjacent strut members. Preferably, at least one or more additional annular elements, each defined by interconnected strut members, are provided. The annular elements are generally expandable between a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration. The annular elements are longitudinally aligned and connected at connection locations. Preferably, each connection location includes a foot extension, such as by an overlapping pattern between the longitudinally-adjacent annular elements or by a connector extending therebetween.

Abstract: This application relates to sulfotyrosine specific antibodies that are capable of binding selectively to sulfated tyrosine (sulfotyrosine), as well as their production and use. In certain embodiments, the antibodies distinguish sulfated tyrosine containing proteins from phosphorylated tyrosine containing proteins. Methods to detect or quantitate the presence of sulfotyrosine and/or sulfotyrosine containing protein in a biological sample, by adding a sulfotyrosine specific antibody to the sample are provided. Methods to treat systemic inflammatory response syndrome and sepsis by the administration of a sulfotyrosine specific antibody are also provided.

Abstract: A method for the determination of water quality, which method comprises: contacting a vessel comprising a population of bacteria with a water sample to be tested, said vessel comprising a semi-permeable material which allows the water sample to pass therethrough and contact said bacteria; and determining the growth rate of the bacteria and proportion of respiring bacteria in the vessel, thereby to determine the water quality of the water sample.

Abstract: A system and method for electronic wallet conversion allows conversion of a basic electronic wallet to a more flexible wallet account, providing additional services and requiring additional authentication. The basic accountholder eventually requires the additional services provided by the more flexible wallet, typically editing rights and making purchases at sites requiring authentication beyond the basic level. To convert the account, the account holder is presented with a one-time challenge and response mechanism that requires the accountholder to summon information that only the account holder would know. If a successful match is made, the account is converted to the more flexible account for all time. The accountholder replaces the one-time challenge and response with a second-level password that grants the accountholder ongoing access to more sensitive wallet features, such as the ability to purchase at sites requiring a second-level password, and editing rights to the information stored in the wallet.
