Abstract:
The present invention is related to a method of treating idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a composition containing a compound that binds FK506 binding protein 4.
Abstract:
In an embodiment of the invention, a patient's mobile phone number and a patient matching or ID creation algorithm that requires the patient's mobile phone number or any derivative or transformation thereof is used as a mapping method to map patient created data related to a patient's health into the correct patient records in EHRs accurately and cost effectively.
Abstract:
A mobile device charging station configured to analyze, measure and respond to/correct the state of a mobile device. The charging station can employ an embedded cryptographic subsystem that can make use of anti-tamper/tamper evident techniques to protect stored firmware images/cryptographic material.
Abstract:
A user interface for a general purpose laser treatment system is provided. Generally, the user interface may be associated with a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser for use in various surgical procedures, for example, veterinary or medical surgical procedures. A treatment atlas including a collection of treatment procedures is stored within a database structure. The treatment procedures includes laser settings associated with each of the treatment procedures. The interface can provide a recommended treatment procedures to a user based on required application. The treatment atlas can be accessed through the internet and requested treatment procedures (and the corresponding laser settings) can be downloaded to a laser treatment system. The treatment atlas can also be a component of a Web 2.0 social networking system to enable users and system administrators to update and modify the collection of treatment procedures.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an automatic control system, method and paper manufacturing machine using such control system for automatically controlling the amount of press section dewatering via the metered application of chemical dewatering agents applied to a paper web in a paper manufacturing process. The control system includes a feedback controller for controlling the amount of chemical dewatering agent applied to a paper web, and a monitoring device for obtaining a measurement of the moisture of the paper web exiting the press section.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to new class of non-steroidal compounds which are useful in treating diseases associated with modulation of the glucocorticoid receptor, AP-1, and/or NF-κB activity including obesity, diabetes, inflammatory- and immune-associated diseases, and have the structure including all stereoisomers thereof, tautomers thereof, or a prodrug thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein X is selected from N, O, and S; Y is N or CR6; Z is a ring; and where R, Ra, Rb, Rc, Rd, R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5 are as defined herein. Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions and methods of treating obesity, diabetes and inflammatory or immune associated diseases comprising said compounds.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses nucleic acids encoding a novel growth factor Opa1, which promotes the regeneration of nervous tissue. Also disclosed are nucleic acids that hybridize to the complementary sequences of nucleic acids encoding Opa1, and vectors comprising said nucleic acids. In addition, the present invention also provides a purified Opa1 protein and methods of using the same.
Abstract:
An ice cream cone product is provided having a sanitary paper jacket adhered thereto which is sufficiently adherent for shipping, handling and vending but which is selectively removable without leaving jacket remnants on the cone or cone remnants on the jacket. A jacket is telescopically juxtaposed over the cone after the jacket interior is applied with vaporized mixture of water and an adhesion-reducing agent. A conveyor for the cones, a timed dispenser and injector for placing the jackets alternately on the same conveyor with the cones, a device to combine each jacket with a cone and an accumulator for the jacketed cone product comprises the apparatus to practice the method.
Abstract:
Ice cream, ice milk and sherbet mixes having specific compositions and solids contents contained in an aerosol dispenser under pressure and having dissolved therein a gaseous propellant to such a degree that on discharge from the dispenser in a chilled condition the ice cream and ice milk mixes are whipped to an overrun of at least 160 percent, while the sherbet mix is whipped to an overrun of at least 80 percent, all of such discharged mixes being capable of being frozen without separation of liquid.
