Abstract:
The invention relates to a preservative comprising at least one isothiazolone, at least one quaternary ammonium compound, and at least one stabilizer selected from the group of sulphite salts, hydrogen sulphite salts, sulphite-releasing compounds and hydrogen-sulphite-releasing compounds, the presence of algicidal triazine being ruled out. The preservative inhibits the growth of fungi, algae and bacteria on or in alkaline coating compositions. The invention furthermore relates to a process for the preparation of the preservative, to its use in a coating composition, and to the preserved composition.
Abstract:
Methods and compositions for preserving articles. A preservation composition is made of isothiazolone and a condensation product which includes glycol, urea, and formaldehyde. The composition does not include 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazolone, 2-mercaptopyridine N-oxide or derivatives thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a stabilizer composition which comprises (a) one or more 1- or 2-(C1- to C24-alkyl) glycerol ethers (glycerol monoalkyl ethers) and (b) a mixture of at least two different aromatic alcohols (b1, b2) chosen from the groups of i) aryloxyalkanols, ii) arylalkanols and iii) oligoalkanol aryl ethers, where the two different aromatic alcohols belong to different groups i), ii) and iii).
Abstract:
Microbicidal preparations containing a) at least one 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one or its derivatives; b) at least one 2-mercaptopyridine N-oxide, or its salts and derivatives; c) at least one aromatic alcohol; and d) at least one alkalinizing agent, or a preparation prepared by mixing components a) to d), and having a pH of at least 11, are provided. The microbicidal preparations are clear and storage-stable, and are suitable for use as preservatives.
Abstract:
An additive mixture for fuels including a) at least one N-formal, b) at least one antioxidant and c) at least one corrosion inhibitor. The additive mixture ensures that the additized fuels and lubricants have biocidal and corrosion-inhibiting additization, especially when they include proportions of renewable raw materials, such as biodiesel, and when they are in contact with copper-containing surfaces.
Abstract:
A stabilizer composition having (a) one or more 1- or 2-(C1- to C24-alkyl) glycerol ethers (glycerol monoalkyl ethers) and (b) a mixture of at least two different aromatic alcohols (b1, b2) chosen from the groups of i) aryloxyalkanols, ii) arylalkanols and iii) oligoalkanol aryl ethers, where the two different aromatic alcohols belong to different groups i), ii) and iii).
Abstract:
A preservative which comprises a) one or more isothiazolones and b) one or more glycerol monoalkyl ethers, and the use of the preservative for microbicidal finishing of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.
Abstract:
A preservative and a process for the preparation of a preservative with reduced formaldehyde emission which comprises: a) at least one formal; and b) at least one emission-reducing additive which is selected from urea, urea derivatives, amino acids, guanidine and guanidine derivatives, and wherein the preservative: (i) comprises no iodopropynyl compound; and (ii) no derivative of 1H-benzimidazol-2-carbamic acid.
Abstract:
Methods for preserving technical products such as fuels and lubricants with a microbicidal composition. The composition is made up of at least one formaldehyde donor compound and at least one antioxidant. The antioxidant is either a gallic ester, a phenol derivative, a L-ascorbic acid, including salts and derivatives thereof, a tocopherol or one of its associated derivatives.
Abstract:
A preservative which comprises a) one or more isothiazolones and b) one or more glycerol monoalkyl ethers, and the use of the preservative for microbicidal finishing of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.
