Abstract: Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for vaporizing a conductive fluid at or adjacent a reference point. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes a primary electrode extending to a first distal end positionable adjacent to a reference point and having a first proximal end selectively couplable with a first pole of a power source. The primary electrode defines a lumen therein and defines at least one opening to the lumen within a distal range adjacent the first distal end. A secondary electrode extends through the lumen of the primary electrode and has a second distal end extending into the distal range and a second proximal end selectively couplable with a second pole of the power source. The secondary electrode is electrically insulated from the primary electrode except within the distal range, where a conductive fluid is receivable within the distal range so as to be in electrical contact with the primary electrode and the secondary electrode. The conductive fluid is vaporizable at the distal range responsive to application of power across the first pole and the second pole of the power source and vaporized conductive fluid is expellable through the at least one opening.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for providing a sheath tip with an angled distal face to conform the sheath to a surface of tissue toward which the sheath is being extended to potentially help reduce or avoid tissue damage upon extending a sheath to convey an elongated instrument for sampling or treatment. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes a sheath tip positionable at an end of a sheath configured to convey an elongated medical instrument to a location adjacent a detection range of a detecting device. The sheath tip includes a distal member that extends a finite distance beyond the end of the sheath. The distal member is detectable by the detecting device when the end of the sheath is within the finite distance of the detection range of the detecting device.

Abstract: A one-way valve device for blocking airflow in a lung passageway. The device includes a frame structure and a frameless membrane. The frame structure includes a hub and anchors. The frameless membrane attaches to the hub section. The anchors and the frameless membrane are at first radial positions in a closed configuration and at second radial positions in an open configuration. The first radial positions is closer to a central longitudinal axis of the device than the second radial positions. The frameless membrane includes a plurality of pedals coupled to the base section. In the open configuration, the pedals curve away from the central longitudinal axis of the one-way valve device. Proximal sections of the pedals overlap proximal sections of adjacent pedals when the one-way valve device is in the open or closed configurations.

In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus for slidably moving multiple features relative to a sheath insertable into a body and positionable relative to a reference point includes a primary actuator configured to move a primary electrode to a first position. A secondary actuator is configured to move a secondary electrode to a second position. A shrouding device is configured to selectively prevent access to the secondary actuator until the primary actuator has been manipulated to extend the primary electrode to the first position.

Abstract: A device for providing access to a nodule, lesion, or pathological area in a lung or other body organ or lumen. The device includes a sheath portion having a proximal end and a distal end and a plurality of stabilization wires. The sheath portion includes a primary lumen that extends from the proximal end to the distal end and a plurality of secondary lumens that extend from the proximal end to the distal end. The stabilization wires are configured to be slidably received within the secondary lumens. The length of the stabilization wires is greater than the length of the secondary lumens.
