Abstract:
A process for the regeneration of dialkanolamines from their thermostable degradation products with impurities of gases, formed during the washing of said gases with dialkanolaminecontaining washing liquors, which comprises adding to the concentrated distillation residues containing said degradation products a 15 to 25% aqueous sodium hydroxide solution or a 25 to 35% aqueous potassium hydroxide solution, either containing the stoichiometric quantity of 100% NaOH or KOH, heating to boiling for at least 15 minutes whereupon two phases are obtained, an aqueous and an organic, decanting the latter and distilling it to eliminate alkali and excess water and recycling the regenerated alkanolamine to the gases washing stage.
Abstract:
HIGH YIELDS OF OBJECTIVE DIMER ARE OBTAINED IN THE HYDRODIMERIZATION OF FUNCTIONAL DERIVATIVES OF ARCYLIC ACID BY MEANS OF ALKALI METAL AMALGAM IN A MEDIUM CONTAINING WATER AND DMSO, WHILE ALLOWING THE REACTION MIXTURE TO BECOME AS STRONGLY ALKALINE AS CORRESPONDS TO THE DECOMPOSITION OF THE ALKALI METAL AMALGAM IN THE COURSE OF THE REACTION,WHEREBY NO PH CONTROL OF THE REACTION MEDIUM IS NECESSARY.
Abstract:
PREPARATION OF ETHIONIC ACID FROM SULFUR TROXIDE AND ETHANOL IN A PROPORTION OF 2 MOLES: AT A TEMPERATURE BETWEEN 40 AND 100*C USING ETHIONIC ACID AS A REACTION MEDIUM. IN A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT, ETHANOL IS TRODUCED BELOW THE SURFACE LEVEL AND THE SULFUR TRIOXIDE ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE REACTION MEDIUM.

MUCOLYTIC COMPOSITIONS, ESPECIALLY EFFECTIVE FOR FLUIDIFYING MUCUS IN HUMANS, COMPRISING A MUCOLYTICALY EFFECTIVE AMOUNT OF A SALT AND/OR MIXTURE OF SALTS OF A MERCAPTO-ALKANE-SULFONIC ACID OF THE FORMULA HS-X-SO2H, WHEREIN X IS AN ALYLENE RADICAL HAVING 2-6 CARBON ATOMS AND AT LEAST ONE NON-TOXIC PHARMACEUTICALLY EFFECTIVE CARRIER.
Abstract:
Process of hydrodimerization of acrylonitrile to adiponitrile by the direct electrolytic route, by passing a direct electrical current through an electrolytic cell having the anode and cathode in contact with the electrolytic medium, which comprises using an initial electrolysis medium consisting essentially of (a) acrylonitrile, (b) water, (c) at least one alkali salt selected from the group consisting of the alkali salts of condensed polyphosphoric acids of the formula
Abstract:
The process for extraction and purification of phosphoric acid from impure solutions of phosphoric acid derived by acid attack of phosphate rock wherein the impure solution is first passed in countercurrent flow with an alkyl derivative of phosphoric acid for removal of phosphoric acid from the impure solution and then passing the alkyl phosphoric acid derivative containing the removed phosphoric acid in countercurrent flow with an aqueous medium whereby the latter removes purified phosphoric acid from the solution.
