Abstract:
Disclosed are methods, systems and products, including a method that includes monitoring one or more service providing components implemented using at least one processor-based device, the one or more service providing components being connected to an interfacing system configured to control requests for service received from client units that require servicing from at least one of the one or more service providing components. The interfacing system is also configured to assign the requests to the one or more service providing components. The monitoring is initiated by equipment associated with one or more of the interfacing system and at least one of the one or more service providing components. The method also includes generating information regarding the operability of at least one of the one or more service providing components based on data generated in response to monitoring the one or more service providing components.
Abstract:
In an example embodiment, a method is provided for scheduling a check to detect anomalies in a computing system. An average time between the anomalies that are detectable by the check is identified and additionally, a runtime of the check is identified. A frequency of the check is then calculated based on the average time between the anomalies and the runtime of the check, and execution of the check may be scheduled based on the calculated frequency.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to creating, facilitating, or otherwise managing unified development guidelines. Software for managing development guidelines can comprise computer readable instructions operable when executed to, in response to a trigger, identify a first guideline rule and a second guideline rule based, at least in part, on the trigger, where the guideline rules are at least partially stored in a central rules repository for a development group and each rule is associated with a validity period. This software then generates a development guideline using the identified first guideline rule and the second guideline rule.
Abstract:
The present system provides a usage analysis engine that receives and stores data relating to the use of a computer interface. The present invention provides and enacts a plurality of algorithms that manage and store the data. The data received from the computer interface is temporarily stored until a screen is closed on the interface and then the received data is permanently stored. The user is further able to view the statistical data relating to their use of the interface to gain insight on their work habits and further to customize their computer interface based on their use of the available functions.
Abstract:
Techniques are described for preventing customers from receiving faulty code. The techniques involve adding marker code to potentially problematic code portions that are not to be included in a final version of the code. The marker code may include a reference date, such as a first date of testing of the code. Before the reference date, various scanning and/or searching tools may be used to determine a presence of the marker code within the code. Moreover, after this reference date, during running of the code, the marker code may cause immediate and program-wide cessation of the code, and provide a message as to why the cessation has occurred. In this way, the problematic code portion(s) will not be passed to a large number of customers.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for managing updates to time-constrained data contained in a database. The disclosed systems and methods may include applying a time constraint to govern permissible relationships between a set of related records contained in a database. An application may comprise a client interface allowing a client to request that multiple updates be performed on a set of related time-constrained records. The system may determine whether the multiple updates are consistent with the applicable time constraint. The multiple updates deemed consistent may be implemented on the set of records. Systems and methods consistent with the principles of the present invention may implement multiple updates without requiring pre-ordering of submitted multiple updates, wherein the number of records existing after implementing the consistent multiple updates may be consistent with the number of records existing before implementation of the multiple updates.
Abstract:
A computer implemented method and apparatus for managing a selection list include accessing previous entries in the history log for a particular field and displaying such entries in a selection list pull-down menu. A determination is made whether the selection is related to other recently made selections. Items from the selection list that are considered to be incorrect may be automatically deleted.
Abstract:
A computer system that a person uses in relation with a physical item may detect a pre-identified physical item that is present in a physical area associated with a user. The system may identify, in recorded information associated with the pre-identified physical item, a category of the recorded information to be retrieved upon detecting the presence of the pre-identified physical item. The category may be identified based on analyzing previous user inputs. At least a portion of the recorded information that belongs to the identified category is retrieved. The retrieved portion may be displayed in a graphical user interface, wherein the displayed retrieved portion can be used in inputting information relating to the pre-identified physical item.
Abstract:
Input blocking with delayed message is described. A server device may provide executable code to a client device which code when executed blocks the input device from receiving user input during its communications with the server device. If any of the communications lasts longer than a specific time, a message is presented to a user of the client device. The executable code may be framework code that the server provides to the client device to provide for their communications. The specific time may be set based on user expectations or on typical roundtrip times for client-server communications.
Abstract:
A voltage isolating device selectively electrically isolates from each other two points (13 and 15) of an electrically conductive flow medium having different electrical potentials along a flow path. The electrically conductive flow medium is conveyed in the inner space (18′) of a freely protruding carrier (17′) having at least one discharge opening (29). The carrier (17′) moves back and forth between a first isolating position and a second docking position to allow a transfer flow. The discharge opening (29) is closed until the docking position has been reached, wherein the discharge opening is opened, and is closed again when the carrier is moved out of the docking position.
