Abstract:
Disclosed is a land grid array module comprising: a substrate; a plurality of active and passive components mounted on both sides of the substrate; and a molding compound for encapsulating the both sides of the substrate with the active and passive components mounted thereon. The land grid array module mounts the passive and active components on both sides of the substrate, thereby improving the integration of the circuit device. Also, the use of a thin film printed circuit board or a flexible printed circuit board with high rigidity as the substrate reduces the overall thickness of the land grid array module.

Disclosed is a combination hood microwave oven, by which a room environment is maintained more pleasant and fresh by proving a microwave oven with an air curtain generating unit for preventing polluted air, which includes hot, smelling, or humid air produced from an oven range on cooking, from diffusing into a room. The present invention includes a cabinet disposed over an oven range, a cooking room having a predetermined cavity within the cabinet for cooking using an electromagnetic wave generated from a magnetron, a hood unit installed within the cabinet to discharge polluted air produced from the oven range on cooking, and an air curtain generating unit installed at a bottom side of the cabinet to prevent the polluted air from diffusing into a room.

A coupling structure for coupling an optical waveguide and an optical device is provided. The coupling structure enables to precisely align the optical waveguide and the optical device so that an optical-alignment error can be reduced within a range of a few μm. The coupling structure includes a first substrate, at least one optical waveguide formed on the first substrate to transmit an optical signal, optical alignment dummy waveguides symmetrically aligned on the first substrate about the optical waveguide, a second substrate bonded to the first substrate, at least one optical device mounted on a bottom surface of the second substrate and optically connected to the optical waveguide, and optical-alignment patterns formed at the bottom surface of the second substrate corresponding to the optical alignment dummy waveguides, wherein an optical alignment for the optical waveguide and the optical device is achieved by aligning the optical alignment dummy waveguides with the optical-alignment patterns.

A heating apparatus for use in a microwave oven includes a tray which is used as a medium of an ultrasonic oscillator. The heating apparatus has a cavity formed inside of a case of the apparatus. A tray is installed inside of the cavity, on which the article to be heated is positioned. An oscillating device is connected to the tray for oscillating the tray and/or the article to be heated. The oscillating device can be an ultrasonic oscillator.

A microwave sealing structure prevents leakage of microwave to the outside of the cavity in which microwave resonates, in an apparatus using microwave which includes a cavity in which an internal space is formed so that microwave can resonate having an opening, and a door for opening/closing the opening. In the structure, an equivalent impedance circuit, formed with a rim of the opening and a cross-section of the rim of the door to prevent leakage of microwave out of the cavity, is a LC resonant circuit.

A group of mosquito-borne flaviviruses that cause fatal encephalitis in humans is among the most important of all emerging human pathogens of global significance. This group includes Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), West Nile virus, St. Louis encephalitis virus, and Murray Valley encephalitis virus. In the present disclosure, the first reverse genetics system has been developed for SA14-14-2, a live JE vaccine that is most commonly used in most JE-endemic areas, by constructing an infectious bacterial artificial chromosome that contains the full-length SA14-14-2 cDNA. Using this infectious SA 14-14-2 cDNA, combined with a mouse model for JEV infection, a key viral neurovirulence factor has been discovered that is a conserved single amino acid in the ij hairpin adjacent to the fusion loop of the viral E glycoprotein, which regulates viral infectivity into neurons within the central nervous system.

Methods and apparatus for wireless charging are provided. Transmission power transmitted from a wireless power transmitter is received at a power receiver of a wireless power receiver. A battery of the wireless power receiver is charged with the received transmission power. It is determined whether the battery is fully charged. A packet from a communication unit of the wireless power receiver is transmitted to the wireless power transmitter when the battery is fully charged. An auxiliary charge of the battery is performed by receiving strength-reduced transmission power from the wireless power transmitter.

A computer-implemented method and system in one embodiment estimate the effectiveness of a dispensing plan of emergency supplies during disasters or in like scenarios, by simulating a flow of emergency supplies in a multi-echelon supply chain, dynamics of victims and progression of disaster. The performance metrics estimated in one embodiment include, but not limited to, overall coverage of distribution, inventory of supplies (e.g., shortage and surplus) and utilization of resources (e.g., shortage and surplus).
