Abstract:
The invention comprises devices and methods for providing operational power to a solar-powered irrigation control system. In one aspect, a method includes producing electrical energy from light, storing the electrical energy in a capacitive module, and operating an irrigation controller using the stored electrical energy independent of another power source. In another aspect, a device includes a control system comprising a computer having a programmed irrigation schedule which operates at least one irrigation device, a photovoltaic power module, and a capacitive module connected to said photovoltaic power module to store the electrical energy provided by the photovoltaic power module, where the capacitive module provides power for the control system to operate the at least one irrigation device independent of another power source.
Abstract:
A computing system architecture is based upon a peer-to-peer, asynchronous model. The architecture specifies a set of infrastructure facilities that comprise an inter-prise operating system. The inter-prise operating system provides all the facilities that make application coding as easy in the peer-to-peer asynchronous model as it is in a hierarchical, synchronous model. Services, which reside in containers, are linked asynchronously by an inter-prise bus and use data from a virtual data store.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a deposition process for thin film deposition onto a substrate comprising providing a plurality of gaseous materials comprising at least first, second, and third gaseous materials, wherein the first and second gaseous materials are reactive with each other such that when one of the first or second gaseous materials are on the surface of the substrate the other of the first or second gaseous materials will react to deposit a layer of material on the substrate and wherein the third gaseous material is inert with respect to reacting with the first or second gaseous materials. The process comprises flowing the gaseous materials along the length direction of a plurality of elongated channels across the surface of the substrate surface in close proximity thereto.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of monitoring a predetermined type of molecule conveyed through a gaseous medium. The method comprises that step of positioning at least one electronic detector for detecting the predetermined type of molecule. The method also comprises the steps of measuring molecules of the predetermined type to detect a quantity of the molecules and producing electronic data associated with the quantity of molecules. The method further comprises the step of monitoring changes in the electronic data so as to provide information that can be used to control a source of the predetermined type of molecule.
Abstract:
A thin film transistor comprises a zinc-oxide-containing semiconductor material. Such transistors can further comprise spaced apart first and second contact means or electrodes in contact with said material. Further disclosed is a process for fabricating a thin film transistor device, wherein the substrate temperature is no more than 300° C. during fabrication.
Abstract:
A thin film transistor comprises a layer of organic semiconductor material comprising a comprising, in a thin film transistor, a thin film of organic semiconductor material that comprises an acene compound having a linear configuration of at least three fused benzene rings, which compound has, at one end only of the linear configuration, a terminal ring that is a fused substituted or unsubstituted thiophene, fused to an adjacent fused benzene ring of the acene compound.
Abstract:
A package of thermographic or photothermographic materials has a primary packaging enclosure, and optionally a secondary packaging enclosure, containing one or more of the materials (such as individual sheets). A non-photosensitive indicator device is associated with either or both of the packaging enclosures. This non-photosensitive indicator device is adapted to provide a visually observable indication of a predetermined cumulative thermal exposure and a predetermined temperature event (that is, single temperature event) of the package. This indicator device is able to provide information as to the time-temperature history of the package.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for augmenting an existing base station for cellular communications, especially when the existing base station includes a main antenna and a diversity antenna. The method comprising replacing the diversity antenna array with a new diversity antenna array comprising both receive and transmit elements; installing a switching matrix in the signal path between the base station and the transmit element of both the new diversity antenna array and the main antenna array; and switching the transmission of data between the transmit elements of the main antenna array and the diversity antenna array.
Abstract:
A keypad with both elevated and non-elevated key regions, and key switches disposed beneath both types of key regions. The non-elevated key regions each provide corresponding character output based on an operation algorithm that considers activation of at least one adjacent elevated key region as well as activation of the switch below the non-elevated key region. The keypad includes a keymat that is rigidly held at its perimeter in a stretched condition across a switch substrate. The key switches include metal snap domes that have an elevated central region forming a downwardly facing cavity defined at its edge by a ridge disposed above the switch contacts that electrically engages multiple switch contacts in an annular contact zone.
Abstract:
This invention discloses a cleaning assembly comprising a wet tissue, a liquid impermeable packet containing the wet tissue and a dry liquid absorbent tissue mounted onto the liquid impermeable packet.
