Abstract: A washing machine includes a casing, a tub, a drum, a pump for sending water discharged from the tub, a gasket connecting an input port of the casing to an opening of the tub and having nozzles for spraying water into the drum, and a nozzle water supply pipe fixed to the gasket configured to guide water introduced through the opening into a first sub-flow and a second sub-flow. The nozzle water pipe includes first nozzle water supply ports, formed on a first flow path to which the first sub-flow is guided, for supplying the first sub-flow to any two or more nozzles among the plurality of nozzles, and second nozzle water supply ports, formed on a second flow path to which the second sub-flow is guided, for supplying the second sub-flow to other two or more nozzles among the plurality of nozzles.

Abstract: A washing machine includes a casing, a tub, a drum, a pump, a gasket that is arranged between a case opening and a tub opening and that includes first nozzles and second nozzles, and a water pipe assembly that includes: first nozzle ports affixed to the first nozzles, second nozzle ports affixed to the second nozzles, a first conduit, and a second conduit. The gasket further includes port insertion pipes into which the first and second nozzle ports are inserted. Each of the first and second nozzle ports includes at least one press-fit protrusion that is formed on an outer circumferential surface of the nozzle supply port and that is configured to, in a state in which the nozzle supply port is inserted into a corresponding port insertion pipe, maintain contact with an inner circumferential surface of the port insertion pipe.

Abstract: A method of controlling a washing machine. The washing machine includes a tub configured to receive water, a drum rotatably disposed in the tub, a volute pump including (i) an impeller configured to rotate in one or more directions to pump water discharged from the tub and (ii) a pump housing that defines a volute-shaped passage configured to guide water pumped by the impeller, and a circulating water supply device configured to supply water discharged from an outlet port of the volute pump into the drum. The method includes: supplying water and detergent into the tub; and rotating the impeller of the volute pump in a first direction to discharge a first amount of water from the volute pump, the first amount of water being less than a second amount of water discharged from the volute pump based on the impeller being rotated in a second direction.

Abstract: A method of controlling a washing machine that includes a drum rotatably provided in a tub that receives water, at least one nozzle spraying water into the drum, a washing motor rotating the drum, and a circulation pump circulating water within the washing machine, the method including: operating the washing motor to rotate the drum in a first rotational direction while repeatedly alternating between an acceleration and a deceleration of the drum so that laundry in the drum alternates between maintaining contact with an inner surface of the drum during acceleration, and separates from the inner surface of the drum during deceleration; and operating a circulation pump motor in the circulation pump, while the drum rotates in the first rotational direction, to accelerate a pump speed of the circulation pump during the acceleration of the drum, and to decelerate the pump speed during deceleration of the drum.

Abstract: A washing machine includes a main body defining an outer appearance, a tub disposed within the main body, a main drum rotatably mounted in the tub, and a sub drum mounted in the main drum to be relatively rotatable with respect to the main drum. The washing machine includes an outer shaft for rotating the main drum, an inner shaft for rotating the sub drum, being disposed inside the outer shaft, and a driving motor having a stator, an outer rotor connected to the inner shaft and rotatable outside the stator, and an inner rotor connected to the outer shaft and rotatable inside the stator. The washing machine also includes a spring washer inserted into a connection part of the outer shaft and the inner rotor that attenuates vibrations of the outer shaft to prevent noise and to prevent separation of the outer shaft due to the vibrations.
