Abstract: Continuous strip casting device comprises a pair of parallel casting rolls onto which molten metal is supplied by metal supply means. Casting rolls are enclosed by a casting chamber into which hot strip is delivered downwardly from the casting rolls. Strip passes downwardly into a cooling chamber where it can either fall into a moveable scrap box at the bottom of chamber or be guided by operation of moveable apron through an exit door from chamber into a heat exchange chamber provided with heaters. A pair of seal rolls are moveable in a seal chamber to form a seal between chambers and are provided with respective gas inlets to admit oxidation inhibiting gas into those chambers. Scrap box is moveable into and out of the bottom of chamber via a scrap box exchange chamber fitted with an airtight door.

Abstract: A personal computer such as one of the IBM 5550 range (represented by the IBM 5530, 5540 and 5560) cannot be connected to a label printer because the two machines have completely different control commands. If a converter is placed between a personal computer of the said type and the label printer, the converter can convert or arrange the data, loop-back anh meaningless or unsuitable signals passing between the two devices, and discard any unnecessary control commands, thus permitting personal computers of the above type, which are increasingly popular, to be connected to a label printer and used effectively, and further permitting the online printing of tags and labels via a connection to a host computer.

Abstract: A rear suspension system for motor vehicles. Both leg ends of a gate-shaped swing arm which at its free end supports the central part of a rear axle are pivotably secured to a vehicle body frame, a tension rod is provided between the lower end of a downwardly extending swing link mounted near the free end of the swing arm and a portion of the vehicle body frame near and below the above pivoted point of the swing arm, and one end of a damper disposed between both legs of the swing arm in a position above the tension rod is mounted near and above the pivoted point of the swing arm, while the other end thereof is attached to the swing link. The rear suspension system can be mounted in a relatively narrow space, and even with devices of relatively large capacities mounted thereabout, it can exhibit its damping characteristics satisfactorily.

Abstract: An optical transmission apparatus including a transmitting OTL processor to rearrange a data string stored in a frame into a plurality of logical lanes, and set a lane ID used to identify in which logical lane a beginning of the data string is arranged among the plurality of logical lanes in a non-scramble area in an overhead of the frame, and a receiving OTL processor to respectively identify the lane IDs included in the data string in the respective physical lanes rearranged, determine a generation state of a bit inversion and a lane replacement for each physical lane, compensate the bit inversion and the lane replacement so that the data string in the respective physical lanes becomes same state as the data string in the respective logical lanes, based on the identified result, and rearrange the compensated data string in the respective logical lanes so as to regenerate the frame.
