A user equipment (UE) may receive a first control message including a resource block group size parameter that includes a resource block group size configuration.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a network entity may configure a user equipment (UE) with a set of cells supporting Layer 1 (L1) mobility, Layer 2 (L2) mobility, or both for special cells (SpCells). The network entity may transmit a control signal, such as a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) or a downlink control information (DCI) message, to the UE to update an SpCell. The control signal may include a cell identifier (ID) indicating which cell to set as the SpCell. Additionally, the control signal may include a transmission/reception point (TRP) ID indicating which TRP to set as the primary TRP (pTRP) for the SpCell. In response to the control signal, the UE may switch from a current SpCell to the cell indicated by the control signal and may communicate with the network via the pTRP of the new SpCell.

    Abstract: A UE may receive, from a serving cell, an activation indication for an SCell, receiving a first reference signal from the SCell, the first reference signal including at least one temporary reference signal, identify whether a second reference signal is received after processing the activation indication and before an expiration of an SCell activation time, and activate, upon identifying that the second reference signal is received, the SCell based on one or more reference signals including at least one of the first reference signal or the second reference signal. The UE may activate the SCell no later than in slot n+K, and K may be determined based on at least in part the SCell activation time.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive, via a first serving cell, a message including an indication to activate a second serving cell different from the first serving cell. The UE may receive, via the first serving cell, a control message indicating a first resource for transmitting a response message responsive to the message, and triggering a reference signal associated with time and frequency tracking for the second serving cell. The UE may transmit, via the first serving cell and within the first resource indicated via the control message, the response message acknowledging the message. The UE may then monitor a second resource of the second serving cell for the reference signal based on the control message.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE), such as a UE with reduced capabilities, may switch from a first bandwidth part (BWP) to a second BWP to receive system information for a carrier that includes the first and second BWPs. The UE may switch to the second BWP to receive system information based on a trigger (e.g., control signaling or an expiration of a timer) and then switch back to the first BWP without additional signaling to continue operation. In some examples, the UE may receive additional signaling (e.g., data, control signaling, reference signals) in the second BWP. In some examples, a BWP switching duration may include additional time to process the system information received in the second BWP, for example if the system information includes instructions to switch to a third BWP (e.g., rather than returning to the first BWP).
